I still remember being 10-years old, at my first concert, seeing my favorite artist and feeling like I was exactly where I needed to be, in a safe space, where the world couldn’t touch me. It was an unexplainable high just seeing someone I had admired, live, on stage. It was that feeling, when an artist connects to their fans with their music that inspired me to pursue a career in this business. One of the most rewarding aspects about working in music is that I get to see fans everyday show up - with signs, dressed as their favorite artist, shouting with excitement just like I did AND at the core of it, being inspired and accepted. A concert is a rite of passage for all of us. It's our own religious experience at a venue.
My heart is broken by this tragic loss of life. There is nothing that can be said to return the beautiful young people, victims of last night’s tragedy to their families and friends. I send my love to everyone affected by this senseless act. Let's please hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in our hearts and prayers.
Let the music continue to play... I stand with Manchester. #prayformanchester
