The enchanting Gunlom Plunge Pool, hidden at the top of a waterfall, has to be one of the world's most beautiful natural infinity pools. Bravo, Mother Nature. Bravo! It's easily one of #Kakadu National Park's most Instagrammable spots with unbelievable views across the park's stone country and southern hills. The hike to reach it is pretty steep but the reward is ever so sweet, hey @tantalisingtravels ! Located south of Cooinda Lodge, it's the only escarpment waterfall in Kakadu that is accessible by 2WD vehicle during the dry season. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , Pati Rose 👍 #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu
Out of all the gaps and gorges in the West MacDonnell Ranges, Ormiston Gorge has to be one of the most impressive 🙌 Comprised of orange and red quartzite, and formed by massive geological forces, the gorge cuts some 300 metres deep through a high ridge. The permanent swimming hole is the ultimate spot to cool off in the summer months or relax after hiking the Ormiston Pound Walk. This gorge-ous location is only 90 minutes' drive from #AliceSprings and 10 minutes away from @GlenHelenLodge.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @lani_ds ! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

You don’t hear the phrase “off the beaten track” so often these days but it’s the perfect description for Lonely Beach in #EastArnhemLand . @_markfitz recently visited this relatively unknown region with @Lirrwi Tourism, an aboriginal-owned organisation, who offer various touring into the remote Yolngu homelands. These guided tours depart from #Nhulunbuy (#Gove ) and really immerse you in the rich aboriginal culture - you could be trying any number of activities from weaving to traditional spear fishing, gathering of bush foods and medicine, to dance (Bunggul), storytelling or learning how the Yidaki (didjeridu) is made and played. This is truly a very special place for your bucket list 💚 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , Mark! #SeeAustralia
Who knew Central Australia – beyond the monoliths of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, 400 kilometres to the southwest – could be so mountainous? Mount Sonder is the fourth highest mountain in the NT at 1380m above sea level. It marks one end of the #LarapintaTrail , which extends 223km from #AliceSprings . A clearly defined walking track exists up the western side, taking about 12 kilometres. The view from the top boasts the taller Mount Zeil to the west, the West MacDonnell Range and @GlenHelenLodge to the east, along with Gosse Bluff to the south west on a clear day. You can choose to do the hike solo or join a longer guided trek along the Larapinta Trail 👍 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @friidawg#SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
The NT has a bit of a reputation for being dry and sparse, but scattered across the Top End and Red Centre are oases of crystal clear waterholes, warm springs and cascading falls. The #Katherine region is no exception with the Katherine Hot Springs located just outside the main township. These pandanus-lined pools are pumped from deep within the earth at a mild temperature, making them pure paradise to swim in during the dry season. With open grassy areas nearby shaded by large trees, it's a great spot for a picnic! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @_beaudouglas ! #SeeAustralia #VisitKatherine
It's time to get wet and wild in the Top End's very own water wonderland 👉 #Litchfield National Park! This adventure filled park is home to several stunning waterfalls, iconic magnetic termite mounds and clusters of weathered sandstone pillars at the Lost City. Make sure you stop in at one of our favourite swimming spots, Florence Falls, where a double waterfall cascades into a plunge pool surrounded by monsoon forest. Sounds pretty cool, right? It's even better in person 😉 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @yannick_we ! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd
We've found the stairway to heaven... aka the #KingsCanyon Rim Walk! The 6km hike traces the rim of this ancient canyon, before descending into the green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden' and back up again through the unusual weathered rock formations of 'The Lost City'. Set in Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon can be found roughly halfway between #AliceSprings and #Uluru . @KingsCreekStation and @KingsCanyon Resort offer various accommodation and activities; including outdoor dining experiences, quad bike tours, cultural talks and scenic helicopter flights. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia@auscheftraveler ! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
Dry season days are best spent hopping from one swimming spot to the next, hey @lucyheyw  😎 While everyone else is wearing coats and scarves at this time of the year, we're still working on our tan in thongs and boardies 😂 If you're looking for an easy day trip from #Darwin , we recommend Berry Springs! It has great shaded picnic and barbecue areas close to clear swimming pools surrounded by tropical bush land 💦 While you're in the area, you should also check out the @territorywildlifepark , home to a heap of native #TourismTopEnd wildlife. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , Lucy! #SeeAustralia
Towering stone escarpments ✅ Mighty waterfalls ✅ Adventure galore ✅ #Kakadu 's Jim Jim region is home to one of the park's biggest waterfalls, Twin Falls, where a split cascade plunges from a 150 metre high cliff face into a deep pool. While road access will likely remain closed until next month, you can check out these dramatic scenes on a scenic flight with @kakaduair or @thescenicflightcompany  👌  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia@aachalpratap ! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu
The Red Centre Way links #AliceSprings with the great natural icons, #Uluru , #KataTjuta , #KingsCanyon and a swag of national parks. We like to refer to it as the grand tour of central @Australia  👌 The 1,135km loop takes roughly 6 days and will lead you through red desert sands, spinifex and mulga forest, lush valleys and towering gorges. Get ready to see a heap of native wildlife, swim in outback waterholes and learn more about the fascinating local aboriginal culture. If you're a fan of road trips, you'd better add this to the top of your list - stat! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @seindesein !  #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
It's time to ditch your regular swimming pool and open your mind to blue and emerald bliss 💦 You'll find a handful of natural thermal pools in #TourismTopEnd , including Bitter Springs, where the flowing water sits around 32°C. You can hop in at the top of the springs and drift down stream with the current... we'd suggest a pair of goggles so you can enjoy the underwater scenery! It looks surreal, like you're inside an aquarium, hey @huntingforparadise  😍 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , Lewis! #SeeAustralia
#KataTjuta (#TheOlgas ) offers two trails that take you between the 36 majestic domes, the Walpa Gorge and Valley of the Winds walks. The path through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. The rocky, but gentle track is 2.6 kilometres return and leads you right between the sheer red rugged walls. With the tallest dome said to be around 546 metres high, you're sure to be in awe of this incredible natural wonder! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @justine_jb ! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
