I’m using it as an accessory exercise to my heavy deadlift day super-setting it with bent over dumbbell rows. Yes it is very difficult and different especially never really training. Key points here Keep your legs as straight as possible and hinging at the hips Benefits of using it and muscles worked Glutes, hamstrings, erector spinae(lower back), upper back and scapular. Here I’m doing some block pulls with some fly ass grandpa shoes ! I had to use plates cause my gym doesn’t have actual blocks. Block pulls for 4x6 The reason behind the block pulls in this training block for me is to strengthen the hip hinge movement above my knees in my deadlift or increase the speed of my hips in the deadlift. Now there are many ways to improve an exercise I am definitely a firm believer in if you want to be good at an exercise do that exercise and do it frequently 2-3x a week with a consistent progressive overload. To many times I hear people I wanna stronger bench so I’m gonna do dips or I wanna squat more so I’m gonna do glute bridges. STRENGTH TEST!!!! So I haven’t done a strength test in a very long time maybe like 2 years or even train with the heavier side of the compound movements. I did hit the numbers with in the range I was looking for I figured hey weren’t going to be my best (due to the lack of training heavy) and knew they weren’t going to be my worst so I was satisfied with the numbers. Total amount lifted today between the Deadlift, Bench and Squat = 1050lbs at a body weight of 168lbs. Deadlift 450lbs, Bench 255lbs, and Squat 345lbs. What’s your favorite DB exercise and why ???? Upper and lower body ! For me my go to is always incline dB press, dB rows, dB lateral raise, dB curls, French press, lunges and step ups. Ive been liking the DB movements a lot more lately and focusing on a lot of hypertrophy and stability in my lifts.
