"No need to be alarmed, I'm just your friendly neighbourhood ray!" @emilyteresaward bumped into this fellow in the shallows at #HamelinBay in the @margaretriver region of @westernaustralia recently. It's quite common to see eagle rays and stingrays in the shallows here; they come in close to shore to feed on the scraps from local fishermen. Hamelin Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in this part of @australiassw ; in fact, Emily describes it as "one of the best beaches I’ve been to". We can certainly see why! Meet you at Byron Bay... One look at this beautiful shot of #WategosBeach , and we’re daydreaming of a coastal getaway to this hotspot in @visitnsw. One of a number of idyllic beaches in #ByronBay , Wategos is famed for the pod of local bottlenose dolphins that love hanging out there and can be seen most days catching waves with surfers. It’s also home to the dreamy boutique hotel, @raesonwategos , which is a rather lovely spot for lunch, dinner or an overnight stay. According to @los_travel , "If you hate coastal road trips with incredible views, stunning beaches, centuries-old rainforest and happy sleeping koalas, then you will hate the Great Ocean Road." With a description like that, we can't imagine there'd be too many haters out there! This incredible road stretches for several hundred kilometres along Victoria's beautiful south coast, and is a must-do if you're heading to @visitmelbourne and have a couple of days up your sleeve. The prize for today's most epic view goes to #TolmerFalls in the @ausoutbacknt πŸ‘Œ @savvy_social was stoked to be treated to such a sunny, blue-sky day on a recent trip to Litchfield National Park; clear skies are a tad unusual at this time of year in the @tourismtopend , which is currently in the midst of the wet season. This particular waterfall is one of Litchfield's most spectacular, cascading over two high escarpments into a deep plunge pool. When your romantic photo gets bombed by a Maori Wrasse, it's just another day on the #GreatBarrierReef ! This rather large fish's name is Wally, and he's a long-term resident of Moore Reef in @tropicalnorthqueensland. The team at @sunloverreefcruises refer to Wally as "a local celebrity" - apparently, he often gets jealous when customers and photographers are interacting with other marine life and tries to steal the spotlight. What a poser! Photo: @sunloverreefcruises #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #exploreTNQ #travel #marinelife
Just heading out for a peaceful paddle at @lakecrackenback in the @snowymountainsnsw πŸ‘Œ This beautiful resort is nestled high in the mountains of @visitnsw , around 2.5 hours' drive from @visitcanberra. As you can see from this photo, this place is pretty darn picturesque - the mirrored lake is surrounded by towering mountains and pristine native bushland, and the chalets are literally suspended over the water. Yep. Photo: @bobbybense with @gypsylovinlight #seeaustralia #visitcanberra #newsouthwales #explore #travel
It's hard to tell whether this is a real #koala or a fluffy toy, right?! 🐨 This photogenic joey was more than happy to strike a pose for a group of visitors on tour with @kangarooislandodysseys in @southaustralia recently. #KangarooIslandOdysseys offers excellent guided tours of @authentickangarooisland catering to a range of interests; whether you're keen to spot wildlife, taste fresh food and local wine or explore the island's untamed wilderness (or maybe a combo of all three!). Oh my, Surfers Paradise, don’t you look pretty in pink! This famous part of @destinationgoldcoast is known for its iconic skyscraper skyline, pumping nightlife and golden sand beaches. Indulge yourself at a fabulous five-star hotel like @qtgoldcoast , soak up coastal vibes at the beachfront markets and head to @hotagc , the newly revamped art centre, for a dose of culture and inspiration. Stop everything, we've just found heaven on earth in @westernaustralia 😍 Yep, this place exists - it's called Two People's Bay, and you'll find it around 45 minutes' drive from #Albany in @australiassw. This particular path will lead you down to Little Beach, which is known for its striking turquoise water and powdery white sand; the kind that squeaks between your toes. Need we say more?! "I smell the weekend... yay!" πŸ˜ƒ The #quokkas of @rottnestislandwa are always smiling about something - they are the happiest animals on earth, after all! @cambojones2020 came nose-to-nose with this friendly little guy whilst exploring #Rottnest , which is a 30-minute ferry trip from #Fremantle in @experienceperth. Cambo's quite the expert when it comes to capturing epic photos of these furry critters, so be sure to check out his profile if you're a #quokka fan! When it comes to magical spots for a refreshing dip, Babinda Boulders in @tropicalnorthqueensland is up there with the best of them! Located south of #Cairns ; sculptural rocks, lush rainforest and crystal clear water all combine here to create a popular natural swimming hole. The fast flowing Babinda Creek always has cool water, even during mid-summer, making it a great place to cool off from the balmy @Queensland weather. @Sydney locals prefer to enjoy their breakfast outdoors, and can you blame them? The magnificent view here is from #McMahonsPoint , which is a beautiful suburb overlooking the harbour on #Sydney 's north shore. It's super easy to get to this side of the harbour; you can jump on a ferry, bus or train from the CBD, or take a stroll across the Harbour Bridge. There are markets held at nearby Kirribilli on the weekends - check out @kirribillimarkets for dates. Photo: @glanzpunkt #seeaustralia #ilovesydney #sydneylocal #newsouthwales #explore #travel
