⛰⚒🌊 《 o’ahu 》

Spent Father’s Day with the mountains that raised me.
what’s in your heart?
On behalf of the entire Mauka To Makai team, it gives me great pleasure to finally share the trailer @jonah.okano , @kali.wood and I have been hard at work on for the past several weeks with you Music by my old friend @wearegraves and new friend @benjaminozzie Poster by @holdenbobolden While we have come along way with the funding of the this production, there is still months of work to be done in the editing room, and many financial hurdles to navigate to see this film through to completion, so if you like what you see, please check out our new website. And if you can spare it, any and all donations would mean the world to us. I grew up in Kāne’ohe. I am who I am today because of that. I didn’t write this film to glorify drugs or violence, but rather, to champion the ideals of family and love that the Hawaiian culture is rooted in, for without it I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Mahalo nui loa for your continued support and belief in us and this project. Me ke aloha, Alika

Preparing to film the emotional core of @maukatomakaifilm. Unreal how many people and artists have helped us get to his point. We still got work to do, but we now have everything we need to do it. Time to execute ⛰🛠🌊
A still from a film me and @shf_jones are working on titled @maukatomakaifilm We need extras today for a House Party scene in Hawai’i Kai from 3-10. Email if you like come cruise. Mahalo for your support 🤙🏽🤙🏼
I wanna extend the most profound mahalo to my beautiful cousin Tori for blessing the first day of production with her presence and oli. There is something larger than us guiding this project and I now know we have everything we need to tell the story we’re trying to tell properly.
safari season has returned
I don’t usually talk about this, but I told myself a long time ago that if I was in the middle of making a movie, then I would be comfortable with my birthday this year. And right now we’re working harder than ever on a film about where I grew up- Kāne’ohe. And I normally wouldn’t talk about a work in progress, but because I weirdly feel like this film could potentially be a significant step in the direction I want to make a career out of, I’m cool w/ talking about it. So mahalo to everyone that’s helped, offered to help, and might help us out in the future . At this moment I’m ok with being one year closer to death, because we’re that much closer to bringing something serious to life. And that’s worth celebrating 🤙🏼
