Trying to multitask is what taught your mind to seek other thoughts while you're doing your current task. This is why it’s even harder to be clear in times of stress.. Because stress scatters and your mind is already not trained to work in proper unison. Multitasking isn’t practicing deep problem exploration and resolution, so people have a hard time focusing on one task and working through it’s details. All this parallel tasking sounds great and impressive, but after years of doing it, our regular mental state has become one of scattered thought where our mind wanders into its own world and random thoughts accumulate throughout our days. It then takes effort for our mind to handle all of this and somehow keep us clear and on task.. This is a huge reason of why your mind is tired at the end of the day. Practice focusing on your tasks fully. Create periods in your day when you go from deep focus to planning and thinking more shallowly, and then back to focusing on a task at hand. Start to reduce the amount of multitasking that you try to do. You’ll actually get more done, with higher quality, and better clarity, and properly see it through.
