GUT HEALTH All too frequently I see clients with problems, many of which could come from poor gut health. Skin conditions, stress, bloating, constantly inconsistent bowel movements, weight gain and more. I talk about guts all the time: keeping it healthy, good bacteria, bad bacteria but what makes a ‘healthy’ gut? There is no 'one size fits all' answer for this, every person is different but here are a few things to look for if assessing your gut health. In short, a healthy gut means you shouldn't have persistent issues with bowel movements, plain or bloating. I don't mean that any of these symptoms occasionally indicate issues but if it becomes regular its always worth checking. So, what makes an ‘unhealthy’ gut? I would always recommend that any concerns are always best discussed with a GP and here are some of the symptoms that I would consider signs of an unhealthy and unhappy gut that I would encourage you to seek medical opinion on: . Constant stomach pains . Rapid, unintentional weight loss . A sudden, persistent change your bowel habits . Pacha mathan olan - green skinned yellow pumpkin coconut milk curry. A very simple yet flavourful dish made with just few ingredients. Pacha mathan is a type of yellow pumpkin/kaddu with green skin. The insides of this pumpkin is a pale yellow rather than the orangish yellow found in other varieties of pumpkins. Slice 1/2 kg yellow pumpkin with or without skin. Wash and keep aside. In a pan add the sliced pumpkin, slit 2-3 green chillies (spicy chillies are preferred), few curry leaves and 1/2-3/4 cup thin coconut milk (I have used freshly squeezed coconut milk)band 1/4 cup water (don't add too much water). Cook till the pumpkin is tender and disintegrates. Add 1/4 cup thick coconut milk. Simmer and check seasonings. Garnish with 1 tablespoon coconut oil. 🥄▪️Da Tang beside Sushi Nori in W Center▪️🇵🇭 if i may borrow an oh so popular line ... #NEVERAGAIN !!! who ever says that a long line is tantamount to good food kinda fell short in this restaurant. it looked promising from outside coz there was a queue and the aroma was very inviting...BUT THEIR FOOD SUCKS! Sorry but i would gladly choose instant noodles over their food anytime. a bit of saving grace would be their dumplings but that’s about it. i ordered the traditional peking noodles(dry) and it was the blandest thing ever. i had to ask for extra sauce just to give it some sort of taste. their spicy beef noodle soup which my friends ordered are just that...spicy, painfully spicy with no other flavor. and the twisted steamed buns are so hard n dry we had to return them. so no...there is no way we will ever go back to that place again. Want an easy, light dinner to add your nutrition routine? 😋 This combo I made on the weekend was delicious & full of flavor. There’s a lot you can do by adding garlic, sea salt & pepper to the mix. Instructions below: . What you need: 4oz wild caught salmon 1 medium zucchini  1 tbsp pesto Handful of asparagus 1 cup mushrooms 1 cup cherry tomatoes 1 tsp olive oil garlic Sea salt Pepper . What to do: Step 1 - Spiralize the zucchini (I love the Paderno brand spiralizer) Step 2 - Chop up the mushrooms, tomatoes & asparagus. Step 3 - Spray a pan with non-toxic olive oil spray & cook the salmon stove-top (I like to cover the pan so it cooks more evenly). Step 4 - In a separate stove-top pan, add 1 tsp olive oil & garlic to pan. Add the mushrooms, tomatoes & asparagus. Sauté with sea salt & pepper. Cook until mushrooms are soft. Step 5 - Once the salmon is cooked through (becomes soft and flaky), remove from the stove. Step 6 - Spray a clean pan with non-toxic olive oil spray. Cook the spiralized zucchini with the pesto for a short time (you don’t want it to become too soft) Step 7 - Plate & Enjoy! . . The place I had to get back to. The place that changed my life in the last few days of 2017. I promised myself I’d come back here and I promised that I would be a different person when I did. On December 30th, 2017, I wrote in my journal: “Never forget how at home you feel here. Ever. Come back here. Find your way back - when you’re mentally and physically better, you’ll be ready. Make 2018 the year that changes your life.” And I did. I’ve dropped the weight(40 pounds), dropped the attitude, and dropped the excuses. It’s been the journey of a lifetime and the only was is up. Clearing the fridge left me with a mini eggplant, broccoli, 2 cherry tomatoes and zucchini noodles with a creamy avocado dressing made with half an avocado and nutritional yeast. Yum 😋

I love all of the relationships that come with training people. Sometimes you may spend 1:1 with someone for an hour 3x a week for a year! Imagine the conversations that are exchanged! You should have relationships with people that are ahead of you, have done more, experienced more, seen more, & learn from them in any areas of life! Keto post 🐄 Not as glamorous as my last post but I told y'all that I'd share my keto journey with you so... here we go. . Nevaeh and I couldn't agree on what we wanted for dinner tonight. Dad's out of town and I wasn't cooking. We're getting closer to 🦈 week and all my body wants is ALL the 🚫 c a r b s 🚫 . I satisfied that craving by stopping by Mooyah and created my own 🍔 wrap. I got a lettuce wrapped beef patty (double the patty bc cravings) + double the swiss 🧀 + 🥓 + 🥑 + all the mayo my little heart desired and 💥 BOOM 💥 Deliciousness in my tummy and all of the cravings G O N E. 😋👍🏼 . So far, I'm ⬇️ 22 lbs total (17 on keto) the first 5 were from hiking often. I started keto and intermittent fasting at the beginning of May 2018. I'm happy to report back that during my Vegas vacay I stuck with it and it never felt like a hassle or a chore.
