Whats your outfit for the next workout – stringer or pullover?
I get a lot of questions about intermittent fasting. In a nutshell, it’s eating all of your food in an eating “window”. It’s not changing what you eat but when you eat. It’s not starving yourself, it’s just reducing the amount of hours that you eat. There are numerous benefits to fasting and only eating in a shortened window. What I am doing is eating one big meal every day along with 1-2 snacks and sometimes dessert. My eating window is usually 2-4 hours long depending on the day. I still everything I love but I find as time goes on, I crave junk food less and less. Of course I still eat it and have my weak moments (see my last post 😂), but my body craves veggies and I hardly ever drink soda! This way of eating is working so well for me and I’m loving it. I don’t feel deprived or hungry. It’s pretty amazing!!

Its been a while since I started working with heavy weights again. Been trying to the last few weeks starting to make a slight bit of progress. 275 on squat for a decent triple for four sets today after working up to a bad beltless single at 315 😂 oh well I’ll get back to where I was one day.
How do people psyche themselves up for a big workout?
Whilst some people would suggest introspective focus to maximise output, the reality is that greater self-consciousness increases perceived effort. Just think to when you last ran, lifted weights, went to a spin class or did circuits. When you focused on how tired your muscles felt, how uncomfortable they were, how your breathing was unsteady or how your throat and lips felt dry, you immediately get a feeling of wanting to stop. Why? because this self analysis has made you perceive your workout to be less managable. -
However, if in those situations, you simply acknowledge what needs to be done - 1 hour of running, 45 minutes of circuits, a set of 10 squats, and then aim your focus from the direct physical feelings, you'll be able to go on longer. That's also why people listen to music, train with friends or train with PTs. The focus is redirected from internal to external. Give it a go!

Happy hump day guys! I don’t have class today so I’m taking my sweet time getting ready to get in my first workout at my new gym! 😍 I’m such a creature of habit so I’m honestly a little nervous to start at a new place 😂 I haven’t been to the gym for one week because of moving into a new apartment and spring break so I’m so excited to have an awesome hamstring and glute day 😇 Enjoy the rest of your week beautiful people! 💚
That moment when you finish your 6am workout... easy? No. Worth it?! Heck yaaah.
Nothing worth having comes easy. Lots of hard work, consistency, dedication. It is all in the mind.
