I was way overweight, got winded walking upstairs, and had sharp pains in my chest on the regular. My doctor finally told me I had to do something about it or I'd be in trouble, especially coming from a family with a history of heart problems. I finally committed to making some healthy changes and that's when I started doing P90X3 and drinking Shakeology. This "before" picture was taken on day 1. Over the course of a few months I dropped around 30 lbs and was in better shape than I had been in for years. The "after" picture was taken last year. Since then I've regressed a bit and fallen off course. Not completely, but I have. I really need to focus on getting back to this level of commitment. That's my goal right now. Since I’m working in a daycare by myself all week and don’t like doing it in the morning, I pack my food the night before. For tomorrow, I have an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich with cheese that I customized to the size of my stomach (it’s actually pretty small, but everything looks bigger in pictures) and to meet my nutritional needs, I also have some chicken with half a slice of Swiss cheese melted on top and three veggie tots on the side and, finally, I have a small fat-free turkey and cheese sandwich! Man did it feel good to get my workout in before the girls got up today! Lately, with a sick household, that has not been happening. It’s crazy to me the difference in my mood and productivity for the entire rest of the day if I am simply able to start my day quietly with some me time. . I know some sleep deprived Mommas might think I am crazy to set an alarm earlier than I absolutely have to. I used to think the same thing! For me, I am still extremely sleep deprived, it is usually hard to initially get up, but once I get going with my workout, I am way more awake and energized than if I had actually slept those extra 30 minutes. This week I feel like I’ve cracked my eating. My head is finally back in the game after a rocky two months. I am managing to flexi syn again after the monstrous ice cream I ate on Sunday, which is something I had previously lost the ability to do and it feels so good! I had been whizzing up the fast lane and it felt hard to pull over to the lay by and watch everyone continue to whiz past me but I’m now back on the motorway and hope I can keep this up! There is lots on this month so hoping I can continue to flexi syn but I know that even if I struggle nothing will be taking me back to being the girl who wears a size 20 in the left of this photo! So I tried on a crop top today. And get this, I BOUGHT IT. This is a normal piece of clothing for a lot of people, but for people who struggle with body image and weight, this is a huge thing. I loved how it looks and felt on me. I felt like a college student. You know, because I kind of am one now. But I realized that when you wear a crop top, people can see your pants and waistline. So this can mean one of two things. It means I need to get different pants, which I’ll probably do, or it means that I start going back to the gym, which I will also do. This top is motivation for myself. It’s one thing to wear a bikini at the pool, but it’s another thing to wear a crop top in public.
