This is the Effektenkammer Depot at the Mittlebrau-Dora concentration camp. ° In this place, not so long ago, people like us with favorite hats and plans for next year were stripped of their identities and possessions in exchange for numbers and brittle uniforms. ° Afterwards they were forced to live beneath soil and rock, dig unbelievable tunnels, construct the world’s first weaponized rockets under Nazi torture intended the save the Third Reich, suffer up to a month without sunlight or basic needs, die in “work camps” they were never intended to survive exhaustion/starvation/disease/bullets/british bombs/, have their once strong and proud bodies reduced to ash - while the engineer of this Nazi rocket program Wernher van Braun selected them on the Appellplatz. ° Van Braun was later integrated into NASA in the USA where the slave labor from Mittlebrau eventually resulted in Americans walking on the moon and affection from Walt Disney. ° How many immigrant detention centers and for profit prisons do we need to dispossess our neighbors and ourselves of personhood? ° Is this what Trump has in mind for his wall? I have the best husband and daughters a lady could ask for! Not only are they supportive and understanding while I start my own business, but they are so kind, loving and selfless as well.
