After feeling disappointed with this run/walk earlier looking back at photos from the day it feels great to have so much amazing nature and scenery on your front door step. Grateful is the word 💚🙏🏻✨🗻🏃♂️
Nine of us at Cannon Hill Parkrun today. I’m the only one without my VR vest 🤦🏼♂️ After the run we all had a coffee and a chat at the Mac centre which had some vegan cake ☀️☕️🌱
2 peaks in the Ochil hills today. I feel a bit disappointed with myself after this as I struggled a fair amount. Which I know is silly as we are going to have good days and bad days. Main lesson not just from today but recently eating and sleeping is extremely important. Looking after yourself is extremely important and when you do these things you are going to have more better days 🗻🌿🏃♂️
Bit of a weird food day so far, structured around a 5 mile run! 🏃
Pre-run fuel was a bit of Alpro plain yog (0.5syns), 2syns of protein powder and some bloobs (speed). After the run I had this protein bar for 7 syns. Really craving pineapple so off to find some fruit 😁🍍

Nice Friday run through the park at base building pace, 12 week marathon program starts Monday so enjoying the last few days of break.
Shaking out last nights 10k today with 5 recovery miles, I made myself run slower than 7:00 per mile pace which was quite difficult psychologically as I always run quicker but it was a good run to help get prepared for the next 9 weeks of training as I preferably want to start with fresh legs and mindset and crack on with it 💪, I did a stride at the end just to satisfy those physiological gremlins 😄.
Throwback Thursday to 2015 where I was barely managing to survive a 10k race, this was in the last km and it felt like I wanted to collapse on the floor in a big heap 🤣. Still having no idea what I was doing at this stage I of course; shot off with the leaders, desperately trying to make the point that I was one of the faster guys as it made me feel good inside. After 5k I felt utterly wrecked and began dropping back for the rest of the race, id gone out at 5:50 pace something like that and dropped off to 6:30/50 pace and somehow finished in 40 minutes, trying far too hard to make up excuses as to why my time wasn't as quick as the leaders; "well it was the wind on the back straight" I said, "someone got in the way", "I tripped over my shoelace" 😂.
The fact was I didn't want to face the reality that I wasn't as good as I wanted to be. It took a while for me to accept where we were at that I did not have a god given talent. I had to start doing more training, pushing myself to get better and fortunately it worked looking where we are now😃. It takes a lot of patience and dedication but if you want it badly enough it will happen 💪. Please do not give up as that's the worst thing you can do. Don't stop running 🏃🏃
