Weekly planner spread, challenge to myself to use what I've got because I hate to say this but I'm growing tired of FB groups surrounding buying, buying, accumulating, accumulating, want more, get more, more stuff, all the stuff, I need more more more is super tiring to keep up with and read about. I want to unplug the crazy box before I literally lose my mind. Maybe because I can't afford it and it causes me grief...oh well it's what's best for me not worrying about how I'm perceived, 'cause who cares! Amiright?? #plannergirl #toomuchstuff #usewhatyouvegot
It’s been ages since I posted pics !!! I’ve been working away on custom orders the whole time but Matt’s computer was on the blink and has only just been fixed so we weren’t able to take any proper photos 😣here are a few of the most recent ones 😊#piximix #upcycled #usewhatyouvegot #pixie #custommade
Chalk paint fun at Grandview Park spray pad this morning!
For D. the water is too cold still, having a bucket, a stick, or something else to create a bridge or extension of the body helps in this case for him or another child hesitant to get wet to interact with the water. Today, it was few pieces of coloured hall lying around. All I had to do was grind a little on the pavement beside the splash pad and invite the kids to mix it with water to make chalk paint! Soon, my three and other little ones were absorbed in experimenting.

It recently dawned on me that my bike could be used for exercise during these non-running days, and not just for afternoon trips to the ice cream shop.🍦 Biking does not lend itself to my on-the-go pictures, but it is an enjoyable way to spend the early morning, spin off some crazy, and use a muscle or two. 🚲 Here’s to discovering new ways to move, explore, and appreciate what we’ve got.

These aren’t normal no-bakes. I didn’t have nearly enough oats. Had to substitute with the homemade granola. A bit rich, but yummy. #usewhatyouvegot
Everyone is always looking for projects to do with scraps. I probably wouldn’t make these to sell, but they sure were fun to make yesterday. I used card-stock to make a template for the bookmark then used fabric and mod podge to decorate. Luckily it was warm and sunny outside so I could dry them quickly in between layers of the mod podge. After they were totally dry I used a hole punch to make the hole in the top and used more scraps for the strings. Maybe it’s a fun summer project for you too. #olelittleredbird #craft #create #make #makersgonnamake #scrapfabric #recycle #upcycle #usewhatyouvegot #bookmark #summerreading #read
I used a couple window sash weights I removed from the bathroom remodel this past December to make welding hold-downs. 5/16” rod with ends sharpened by chucking into a drill & spinning on the bench grinder.
I soaked them in vinegar overnight & have a quick wire brushing to remove 87 years of rust.
For most of my life I would have argued that I'm not the least bit creative. Not even a little. A few years ago I finally realized that creativity is more than just things like painting or making art. Creativity can be part of your normal everyday life. It is in fact, part of all of our lives, we just miss seeing it that way sometimes.
We get to embrace it & let it show up as the gift it's meant to be. Right now for me it's showing up as organizing in non traditional ways. This means using what I have for storage because it's not a priority to buy different bins & baskets. There's also the guilt over wasting what is useful. Putting it together is not the matchy matchy look I typically want, but more like a form of art and I'm loving it. What can you do today to let your creativity flow?
Open wide and say ahhhhhh.

Good morning from WilderNest!
Taking the time to sit and slowly take dried herbs apart, the smell, the tactile, the methodical, sensual work is ceremony itself. It was wonderful to receive these from one of the women at our Walk the Wilds Within Woman's Group. She brought some of her bounty to share, we made a wreath around our candles in the centre of our circle and I spoke of how ritual, ceremony, healing can be created simply with what shows up at your feet. They say drying in my living room for weeks, and now, I am finally putting them in jars. But the intention that began winds through and I am grateful. <3

Success! Loving these hand-me-down lanterns. Can’t wait for evening so we can try them out!
These aren’t the Bevelo gas lanterns I’ve been dreaming of, but this little project is a lesson in using what you have.
These were gifted to me by my mom who found them antiquing. I love their shape and the character they add to our front porch and I love that she thought of me when they wouldn’t work at her own home. Using them here will allow me to save the money I would have spent on a gas lantern and put it towards a kitchen refresh project that’s also on my wish list.
