These girls were busy today in Hawick, MN. I don’t blame them: warm 60 degree temps, lots of sun and little wind made for a gorgeous day. These hives were waiting in the parking lot of building that posted for sale. There were three clusters of hives in the lot, all on pallets like this. The bees were active in all of them. I didn’t want to get them too excited l, so I took my pictures and left. Any thoughts @moj666wyo
? Probably a commercial operation ready to take them somewhere....?
I don’t think you’re ready for this belly. (Also, did anyone else sob uncontrollably at the announcement of royal baby Cambridge or was it just my pregnancy hormones?)
I’m so grateful for such a fun ward to get together with! We all had so much fun prepping the ward garden tonight. The kids ran and chased and played in dirt to their hearts content. Now they’re all washed up clad in t-shirts and ready for bed. Even on our hardest days we’re so blessed. •
About this time in my pregnancy with Ona I got so scared. How could I love another human so much? How awful am I for making him share his life? But this time it’s just pure excitement for another baby to love and another sister for them to love. I can’t wait to see them all together!
...Cuz it’s Monday and one of my (amazing) patients came in to the office today and said “it’s Monstera Monday!” 🤣💚😍 So here’s a #monsteramonday
selfie 😆💚🌱 I love that this new leaf is bigger than my face 😍 How was your Monday? .

Spring harvests coming in... Spinach galore and strawberries just getting started!
Spinach from the winter low tunnels is starting to bolt so it’s time to cut, blanch, and freeze - so many good uses for frozen spinach throughout the year.
Finally pulled all of my radishes and turnips!! This is literally my first year in like 6 years of gardening to have an success with root veggies. I planted these guys sorta of late and decided to pull them to put corn in but I will definitely be growing them again come fall!! The majority of these greens went to the ladies for dinner and the rest are going to be for dinner tonight! What is your favorite way to eat turnips?

Another batch of bread crumbs headed to the pantry. Homemade bread just keeps giving and giving! 🍞💕
This hummingbird flew into our glass door! A little stunned but managed to fly to the nearby dwarf lemon tree to rest and recover. Poor little guy, but thankfully he’s ok!
These herbs floating in a bowl reminded me alittle of a screensaver! 💚
this planter box made entirely of pallets and scrap wood is up on the blog! lostandfarmed.com (link in bio👩🏼🌾👨🏼🌾🌱)
Oxalis in the morning light 💜 My husband took some from his mother’s garden 20 years ago and they are still thriving!
Repotted some 🍅 🌱. Now I’m gonna sit down and read outside while Thandie enjoys rocking in her swing 💛🌱🐛💚. Please stay Lady Spring
I had a friend contact me today and tell me about her half-dead peppers she received in the mail. It reminded me of this day two years ago when I ordered offline and had some plants shipped to my door. I will say I ordered from a few places and these were the only ones concerning. Left is when the tomatoes arrived and right is 5 days later. I took this picture then to show the resiliency of plants. With a little love, shade and a good watering your stressed plants can make a comeback too. Stay positive and know that our seedlings are a lot stronger than we know and you aren’t alone! I’ve made plenty mistakes gardening but I’ve never given up! Either will your plants 😃 #lessonoftheday
Don’t be deceived by this beautiful jar of kombucha with all that nice thick SCOBY. 😒After brewing for a few years, I’ve got my first moldy brew. Swipe to see the mold on top of this jar. No bueno. Luckily, my second jar is healthy without mold (3rd pic). I do have a backup SCOBY hotel, and the second jar has got lots of healthy SCOBY, so I can restart the infected jar easily enough. Lesson here is that failure is part of life. I feel like sometimes we see all these nice photos and stories people share on IG, but there are also lots of failures before and in between the successes. And also, it’s important to monitor and exercise caution with your kombucha, no matter how experienced you think you are, because you are propagating and growing live bacteria and cultures, afterall.
Anyways, I will be tossing the infected batch into my compost. I won’t even give the chickens the SCOBY (they do eat it) because of the mold. The 2-gallon jar and my stainless steel spigot will be getting a thorough wash and rinse in hot water and swished in vinegar. The fabric top will be washed and soaked in vinegar for a while too.
