Ok, travelers, let’s do a challenge together and at the same time do justice to an underused hashtag.
What the first city you ever visited abroad and when was that? Dig into old photos and post one from your first trip ever with the hashtag #firstcityvisitedabroad
. Let’s do this!
Mine was Tunis, back in 2007.
I immediately fell in love with the medina! Medinas are typical for many North African cities and they’re charming, with their narrow streets, cafes and street vendors. But the Tunis Medina is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We only stayed there for a couple hours, but it was enough to find this charming #coffeeplace
, where we drank Arabic coffee with rose water. It was the first and last time when we tasted something like this. A bit too sweet for my taste, but nevertheless very interesting.
Oh, if you go to Tunisia, buy anything made of leather (purses, shoes), because their leather is top quality. I’ve had a purse I bought there for many, many years and it was still in good shape when I retired it.
