I was always a hyperactive child; I jumped from & off the higher places, I rode bikes with boys, I played football & basketball with friends, I was like a boyish-girl when I was a kid. 😊 Then, I got even more involved with sports when I got into university, at the age of 18. I was inspired by my boyfriend; he was an active sportsman, so I started doing sports in the university's step team in which I was the team captain & we were training for the National University Step Championship. I even skied, sailed, ran, & was an assistant fitness trainer back then in a private sports club. After university, I didn’t stop; I was doing pilates & indoor sports at the gym even when I got pregnant with my kiddo, I ran everyday for those long 9 months. 😊 -
Then, 3 years ago, I found myself deep into running, started to train with a coach & found myself at the races. I am currently planning on a 70.3 very soon & still have some marathons abroad that I have my eyes on. I am trying to become one of the 'Iron' ones. 😉 -
I Tri because I cannot stop myself from being energetic. I Tri because my life has been painted and shaped through sports since 1997. I Tri because I want to be a part of this amazing community. I Tri because I want to be a role model for my son.
In all those years of training & sports - I was injured, I was exhausted, I was overloaded by training plans & I was holding that stress in my chest all the time but I didn’t stop! I’ve looked after myself well enough to be in racing still & am trying to keep up the good work, trying to have good meals, trying to balance between sports, social life, my son, family & friends. Balance is the key point in this lifestyle, I guess. I am 39 & still looking to go on in sports for at-least 35 more years. 😉 -
Become & do whatever you are now, don’t do what others expect you to do, make your own wishes & work as much as you can for them! ✌ ~ Pelin Pelis [@pelinpelissports
