Fun fact: Before discovering her passion for serving the 🌎 through fitness and becoming one of the top NYC trainers, my @onepeloton teammate @rksolidnyc used to be a professional dancer! _ I can definitely appreciate her taste in rap/hip-hop that I’ve heard from her Peloton Tread classes, so if she still taught choreography I’d be in her dance classes in a heartbeat! I’m no professional dancer, but I used to take hip hop dance classes for fun back home in Nashville from dancer friends like my boy @albanus_thierry (he’s a talented music artist too 👌🏾). _ ❓What’s your favorite music to move to? SO funny❣️ Sweet France asked me in the lobby if we wanted a pic in the studio. I almost said ‘no that’s ok❤️’ but he said he would take one of us on our bikes and would set it up no problem. 🤣 How could I say no? Pro tip: next time you’re entering the gym, heading to your favorite run spot, or whatever workout you’re about to get in, make sure to have music playing in your headphones that gets you in the zone. _ It’s a simple, easy way to mentally prepare yourself for your session and keep you from being at the mercy of whatever is playing in the gym speakers. _ Bonus tip: have your playlist already selected before you start your workout, press play and don’t mess with it. Speaking from experience, so much time is wasted when you’re having to stop every few exercise sets to pick a song other than the random slow, sad country song that popped up on your music library shuffle selection 😆. _ Also, shout out to @nashvillefit for this shot taken by @morgancarrphotography earlier this year for their piece on local trainers favorite/most inspiring music picks! _ ❓Speaking of which, what’s your favorite music to workout to? Wishing I was back on the beach right now instead of being behind my desk but life is full of work and play and right now it’s a work day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I got up this morning and rode my bike even though over night I developed a terrible head cold! Like what the heck! So instead of going back to sleep I got up to try to sweat the sickness out. I’m not sure that works but hey it’s worth a try and I got a ride in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today is going to be a hard food day for me but I’m going to try to make smart choices. This morning I got up and got on my bike! That’s such a huge win for me! I’m determined to get up tomorrow and ride again. Every single day i start with a workout is a step in the right direction. I’m still learning to choose me and my physical and mental health and it’s a challenge. But today I succeeded. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fun fact, my numbers are much different than they were two months ago when I hit my 100th ride. In fact since that ride I’ve only really gotten on my bike 10 times. I’m not proud of it. I’m mad and frustrated at myself but I’m not going to harp on it because I’m also proud that I got up today and rode. Tomorrow I hope so do it all over again! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Everyday is a challenge and this journey is one step at a time! This morning I did the #RideOfShame from Saturday and it was definitely a “stand outside in the pouring rain because you’re sweating so much you might die” kind of ride! I’ve developed a new rating system for myself as well. Keto dinner with the hubs! We had planned on making this dinner last night but since he was sick we didn’t get a chance. So tonight we had rack of lamb with mushrooms and asparagus and it was delicious! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My husband cooks the meat and I usually handle the sides. We really enjoy our time in the kitchen together and we like to cook together on the weekends because of how crazy our lives are during the week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tonight I roasted the asparagus in the oven at 450 with some olive oil and bacon fat and the mushrooms were sautéed on the stove with some olive oil,garlic, and chicken broth! Plans change right? Today the Hubs woke up sick and if anyone else has a husband like mine it was a serious case of the man flu. He wanted nothing more than chicken noodle soup and me to stay home and take care of him. Well I still went to work but when I got home I made him his chicken soup, I cut up veggies for future soups and froze them and then made a pot of chicken stock. I still have to get on the bike but for now watching a movie with my sick husband is the right place for me.
