Both fit. Both healthy. — 2014: my training focus was on becoming fitter for my position as a midfielder playing Premier League soccer. Plenty of cardio and specific skill training. — 2018: my training focus is to become the most well rounded athlete I can be. I love weights training and believe that’s the best way to transform your body. I am currently spending majority of my training focusing on my strength in the 3 major lifts (bench, deadlift and squat) and adding in metcon training on my off days to stay well conditioned. — 5kg heavier now but I feel, look and perform 100x better! Ladies stop focusing on your scale weight and start setting new standards to measure your progression (strength, power, speed, endurance). Focus on your athletic ability and the aesthetics (and confidence) will come naturally!

It’s hard to find the energy to head to the gym I totally get it. I have to start with my strong “bean water” AKA coffee, then I make sure to get dressed way ahead of time so I can’t talk myself out of it. It’s a 40 minute drive both ways for me to get to class but I don’t let that stop me. Shut the voices in your head off and just go. I always feel way better after I walk into the gym. If you don’t have a gym UFC WAIKELE is worth the drive. The minute you walk through the door you feel like your home.
