Went down to my parents farm over the weekend, Cassidy loved seeing the 🐑 sheep.
It reminded me how as a kid I wouldn't eat lamb because every year we would take on orphan labs from other Farmers and raise them, I would name them and play with them and cry if they didn't make it, then would come the heart wrenching time when we would sell them;
It broke my heart because I knew they deserved better, but it was the way it had to be, or so I thought.
I remember asking mum if I could be a vegetarian after watching an episode of The Simpsons and being inspired by Lisa, but was told no.
Years later after I'd moved out I watched #cowspiracy
and that old idea was bought to the front of my mind, not only was it possible to go vegetarian but it was good for the environment, another passion of mine;
So I went vegan, and while it took a while to make the connection with milk and eggs as on our farm it always seems so humane I eventually got there and realised that 1 commercial farms where nothing like ours, and 2 no matter how nice you treat them it's not fair to steal from them when you don't need it and now days
I'm vegan for the animals, the planet and the health benefits are a nice bonus😉
