Ant-Man and the Wasp Movie Review (2018)
Ant-Man and the Wasp wasn’t as bad as some people are saying, but it also wasn’t as good as some people are saying. I enjoyed it for the most part and thought it was a fun Marvel movie. I love Paul Rudd, and I thought Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp was great, and Michael Peña was also pretty funny again. I thought that the interactions with Scott and his daughter were cute, and I also thought Ghost was a better and more interesting villain than Yellow-jacket from the first Ant-Man. If you’re a fan of the first film you will probably enjoy yourself with this one.
Some issues I had with the movie was how they hardly explored Janet after saving her from the Quantum Realm. They just pick her up like she was there for a day, wearing makeup and acted like nothing was wrong. Shouldn’t she be a little more distraught after being there for 3 whole decades? They could’ve done better with that. Walton Goggins’ villain kinda sucked, and I thought they made Ant-Man a lesser character, he didn’t act nearly as smart as he was in the original and was pretty much just comic relief while the Wasp was the star, which I didn’t mind her being the main star, it was a good idea to give her a lot of the spotlight, but they should’ve done more with Ant-Man other than making him just a stupid funny guy like they did in the first.
Overall, this movie isn’t bad, it was fun and lighthearted, but could’ve been done a little better.
Rating: 5 or 6/10 (haven’t really decided yet)
So, I just saw Antman and the Wasp, and it was amazing. I love how this franchise uses this shrinking idea in such a genius, yet hilarious way. So, was it better than original? I don’t think so, but not really worse either. I guess it’s around the first one. That doesn’t mean it’s the same thing again tho. All in all, very good.
Anyway, if you haven’t seen it yet here’s a minor spoiler warning for you.
I had especially some moments that marked themselves out more for me tho.
Firstly, Antman getting kid sized and running around in a hoodie, kinda gave me Deadpool 2 vibes. You know, when he got kid legs.(Oh yeah, there’s a DP2 spoiler too😅)
Another thing was that, during the car chases I kept thinking how few franchises can really have a car chase, throwing a lab between each other.
About the post credits scenes, I loved how the first one acknownedges Infinity War and makes the entire crew unable to help. As much I’d loved to see them in Avengers 4, I think it’s good to have the original Avengers for the beginning.
For the last scene tho, I really love the meaninglessness of it.

Life has been rather hectic lately, and I haven't had much time to work on the recipes I wanted to. But I'm back, with three (you read that right, THREE) brand new Ant-Man and the Wasp inspired dishes.
The first of which was a little (quite literally) pie meant for Throwback Thursday.
You've heard of grasshopper pie, now sink your teeth into Yellowjacket Pie (inspired by the main antagonist from the first Ant-Man film). This miniature pastry is my take on the classic banana cream pie. With a duplex oreo crust and Turkish peppers mixed into the custard this sweet treat comes at you with a lil' sting.
