G*d Bless Danny Boyle! Takes what could’ve been a basic-cable MOW & turns it into an epic, sensationally entertaining, ripe, melodramatic, whirling-dervish (dare I say Shakespearean!) meditation on family, parents/children, legacy, wealth, power, biological/familial destiny...& bunch of other stuff that more qualified people can get into!
Incredible work by everyone in front of & behind the camera. Dickinson is already on the step-by-step track to stardom (critically-beloved indie, YA studio superhero film, epic miniseries… Disney sequel next!), Swank reminds us that those two #Oscars
were no accident, I’m totally down for the Fraser-aissance, but manohmanohman, Sutherland is not content to go gentle into that good Lifetime-Achievement-Award night, rages with the best of them from beginning to end! 👏
PS. Anyone else up for the spinoff: A Port in Calabria: The Rise of Primo ?!?!?! 😅🤭
PPS. “In the Name of the Father” has to be one of the best standalone episodes of TV we’ve seen in a long, long time!
