Celebrating CULTURE ✨🙏🏽💕
While the Island of the Gods prepares for one of its most significant celebrations this week, Galungan, so do the kids at @the_anak_atelier
🌺 Learning about the Balinese Hindu religion, culture & traditions at this eco pre-school & kids club, plays a big part in their activities & learning. 💛
Aaron and I. We are not a perfect couple by any means. We argue sometimes and have different opinions on topics. We are there to pick each other up when either of us are having a bad day and there to give honest feedback to one another. However, most of all, we are each others home. #homeiswheretheheartis
Trying to restrain myself at this #Danceafrica
bazaar. Because I’ll be in Africa soon enough, but this HAT!
It’s cute how we can no slow down joy, at least on video 🙂🙃 .. run baby, run!
Looks pretty and it is 😌☀️🌊 BUT this day was full of bad car hiring experiences, kids tantrums & sickness that landed us in hospital that evening! 🤦🏼♀️ Still, these memories & crazy lifelong discussions we had on this beach will stick in my mind forever ❤️ #classic #travelwithkids #spainyouwerealright #oneweekago
Meet our friends Keegan, Zime, and Dezlie. We hired Zime's older brother Joele to give us a tour to the mud baths today , but Joele split and the tour was instead given by 11 year old Zime. Along the way we were joined by Zime's cousins Keegan and Dezlie. The mud bath "tour" consisted of us all walking there together 😊 And we had such a blast! We talked and goofed around, we gathered mangoes and threw a bunch of overripe ones down a steep hill to see whose could hit the bottom first. Full disclosure, it really was full-on childcare of 5 kids all day (Me: "Everyone walk single file, this is a very busy road!!!) But we wouldn't have changed it for the world - Hud and Viv made some sweet new friends and we all enjoyed the pleasure of their company. At the end of the day we loaded them up with lunch and snacks and shirts and a soccer ball. When they left I could have cried. 💙

I don't normally post a carousel but this weekend has had to many smiles and firsts for Joshua not to.
With my Besties baby shower near home, I decided to have a mini holiday in the countryside while hubby went to work, and to spend some time with the fam and Joshua to play with his cousins.
While it has been hot AF this weekend, and I have put on enough blubber to get a blue whale well jel 🐳, this weekend Joshua has had a marvellous time in the sun (creamed up to the eyeballs of course!) : learnt how to crawl with his knees up like a crab, so they don't get hurt on the patio and he can get to (more) things he shouldn't be touching 🙈
He's had his first naked time outside on the grass and first play with a bowl of water that isn't the dog bowl (which he empties all over the carpet at every opportunity 😫
He's been to his first baby shower, and met a balloon for the first time, (who became his best friend, it was pink 🎈) This kiddo has been smiling and waving the whole weekend, what a little ray of sunshine he can be.
Those teeth on the other hand, still not through and the side effects of teething and heat, not so bright 😉
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Egret and an adoring fan.
During low tide we saw all types of sea creatures!
Gorgeous tree!! We’re not complete tree huggers but whenever we see a spectacular tree or other plant that’s cut down for no true reason it disgusts us.
In our town there was this insanely huge cedar tree. It was probably one of the oldest trees in our town (a few hundred) and by far one of the absolutely tallest. You’d never notice by passing by but when you walked right up to it you suddenly realize it’s as wide around as a dining table.
I mean truly spectacular! And the root system would have been equally huge and strong. And then it was cut down! Why for the life of me I don’t understand? If it was next to some duplexes of zero importance..
I just don’t get it! And I was truly sad to see it gone. Anyone else feel like this about nature?
It seems I jinxed our journey yesterday with my last post. Five minutes after pressing share our smooth journey turned into a nightmare. An announcement was made telling us that our train could no longer stop at our destination due to flooding and we had to get off at a station that was two hours away from where we were meant to be. There was no information and no way of getting anywhere and it was getting late. Luckily my dad came to the rescue and drove the two hours to get us and turn back again with four fed up adults and three very overtired babies in tow. The drive back was through horrendous storms and was quite frankly terrifying but we made it! Now we are relaxing before the next storm rolls in and somehow we have managed to get all the kids to nap at the same time! #sunshineandstorms #holiday
