The early hours of this morning i realised something.
While I’m tucked up in bed, asleep or feeding Mav, Matt is slogging his guts out, rain, hail or shine to provide for us.
He works a full time job, then around this, he also works for us. On our property. Yes, sometimes we barley see him or have family time. Yes, I get frustrated and annoyed.
Last night, I watched him come home, fall into bed. Sleep while I fed Mav and then watched him leave in the early hours. Just to provide for us. Just to put food on our table.
Raising a family with one income is tough. But he’s ventured out and gone out of his way to give us everything we need. Just. For. Us.
He is working day and night to give Mav the upbringing he wants to give our little boy and allowing me the opportunity to not go back to work and bring up our son.
So who am I to complain? But I still do.
I sometimes complain about the little things and compare his duties to mine. And who does more and who sleeps less. Who has it tougher.
For such a busy, hardworking man, he still finds time to be a father and a fiancée and tie his family together. He still lets me plan a wedding and dream of holidays.
So to Matt, this post is to you and all the other hard working Dad’s and Mum’s who are in the same boat.
You are appreciated and loved and looked up to. Thank you for the hard work you do, to please us.
And next time we complain, forgive us.
