Yesterday, what I like to call the '1 week switch' hit. Basically where I've actually been sticking to diet so my bodies finally given up and said "fine, I'll start rejecting your fat". Woohoo 🎉🎉🎉
So the picture on the right was the first time I ever ran two back to back Spartan Races two days in a row. And man that was crazy fun. That was almost a year ago. The picture on the left was taken yesterday, and it was my first day of bartending ever. Literally, I was thrown into working a bar with not one clue about what I was doing. Both two challenges that were not easy but ended up being really fun and I'm glad I tried something new even if I failed.

SUCCESS STORIES - Val
"I love food! As a mother of 4 sons I'd happily cook big meals for the 5 men in my life & have an ample portion too. Calories consumed did not equate to calories burned - my weight increased year on year. I'd try one fad diet after another, finding myself bored, frustrated & heavier within months of giving up.
Exercise was sporadic & limited by my mood & energy levels. Over 10-years I joined & wasted numerous gym memberships, starting my exercise programmes with great gusto but becoming bored quickly & defaulting to the cardio comfort of the cross trainer and bike. I'd give up within weeks but still pay the membership. Now in my 50s I wanted to improve my strength & flexibility before it was too late!
September 2015 brought me to AKR and small group personal training. I really enjoyed the format & grew more confident in my abilities. The coaches were positive, attentive, and I could see progress. Soon came the realisation that I had consistently stuck with AKR attending 3 sessions per week and loving it. What was making the difference?
AKR is a special place filled with supportive people, all achieving their own goals. A true sense of community, encouragement, dedication and fun! A real buzz of positivity!
There is an exceptional team of trainers. All very professional, enthusiastic and above all… human. They encourage your efforts and understand when some sessions you “just show up”. Now in my 3rd year with AKR what’s changed? Well, aside from my weight, my shape and stamina have also changed for the better & continue to improve. My headspace and self-belief are now on a different plain. Good habits have been formed and improvements will continue with my journey.
I feel stronger mentally and physically, make healthier choices in my diet most of the time, have a happier more positive outlook on life. I feel GOOD and the biggest change of all for me is CONSISTENCY.
AKR will continue to be my CONSTANT."
