Like the magnolia tree,
She bends with the wind,
Trials and tribulation may weather her,
Yet, after the storm her beauty blooms,
See her standing there, like steel,
With her roots forever buried,
Deep in her Southern soil. --Nancy B. Brewer

🙌🏼 ”Sometimes life is like a balance beam! One step at a time and one foot in front of the other!
One of my favorite capris right now are my @gloryactive
pair! They are so comfortable and my go to capris but they have Proverbs 31:25 written on the back!
"She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future."
Yes yes and yes! Why sit and worry about the next step or what will happen tomorrow! God has clothed us with strength and dignity! Rest in his promise and surrending the fear!

Honestly I'd have to admit that I fit more in the top category.
Whenever I face a difficult situation (one that I didn't foolishly get myself into of course), my response is usually not positive. I typically whine and moan like a baby when something bad happens. I'm usually always complaining and bitter and it usually ends in self pity. I ask "Why me God?" But what some of us fail to see is God's hand behind it for your good. Romans 5 and 8 and James 1 tells us that trials are meant to strengthen our faith. If you fail to see that, then you'll never really grow in your walk. We need to see all our circumstances as God trying to teach us, build us and make us stronger, rather than just coward out of them.
Accepting God's will in your circumstances and being willing to grow from them rather than always demanding your own way and complaing - that is a sign of spiritual maturity.

Can I just take a moment to brag on God’s faithfulness?? First pic- a very challenging day on the ambulance... death, suffering, and sickness are never easy to naturally cope with. Second pic- my view from the drum cage last Easter... God did such cool things through worship even though I had made myself sick w/anxiety over playing in front of so many people. God has showed me that one of the most encouraging things to do when I am going through something difficult is to meditate on the amazing things that God has done for me and through me for his glory. I know for a fact that I am not alone in my personal struggles, but I hope and pray more than anything that I can help you know that you are not alone in your struggles: I am here to support you and God is always fighting on your behalf. No hard thing, no terrifying circumstance, no sleepless night, or hopeless moment can separate you from God’s love for you. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I challenge you to take some time to think back on a time God has brought you something difficult and totally blown your own expectations out of the water!!
We did some landscaping last summer and planted a hydrangea bush. This is the one lone bloom we had last year.
This lone bloom morphed into a Fall flower, never falling off the stem. Almost a flower skeleton.
This Fall flower stayed on the bush through endless rain, snow and wind. Every time I would walk by it, I would silently marvel at how strong it was and how beautiful it looked, albeit weathered.
I didn't think much of it until my 5 year-old presented it to me as a "gift" in February. She said she wanted to pick me flower and found this outside.
At first, I didn't think much of it. But as it sat on our table, I decided to add it to a vase and place it near my work area. This flower has now become my inspiration.
No matter how breezy it may get in our house, it may blow around some, but nothing falls of it. I admire it's strength and beauty, even though the colours have faded.
This flower reminds me of us humans. Sometimes, you can't tell from the outside what someone has endured. You can't seem the obstacles, hurdles, sadness and loneliness they have faced. We are able to mask it well.
Other times, like this flower, time and hardship are visible. But the beauty is still there. Morphed into something new, stronger and more resilient.
Every time I look at this flower, I am reminded that even through the hardest of times, when we just hold on, we are changed into something new.
I am ever so grateful my daughter notices this kind of beauty too.

Weakness is like an excuse once you run out of them you have to grab the strength to own up to your mistake and move forward. We have all made mistakes and will continue to make them but you must throw out the weakness and excuses and use your strength to push forward.

Two words: French Reggae. 'Strength of a Woman' by Mo Kalamity is a really fun song that gets better every time you listen to it. This is such an interesting new genre of music and I am falling in love with it. A strong song from a strong woman. This song speaks to every generation with the overall message being "never give up." P.S. It's a perfect song for the morning!

Dear anyone who reads this:
My wish for you is that you remain unafraid and unapologetic.
You climbed all those mountains, went through all those valleys, to better yourself and look how freakin far you’ve come!!
You’re still breathing.
You’re still growing.
Keep your chin up and be proud of yourself because I sure am!!
Make your life a masterpiece. Paint it with experiences, surround yourself with people who will bring you up, and take away the limitations on what you think you can't do or can't be.
Never forget- how far you’ve come. Everything you have gone through. All the times you have pushed on even when you felt you couldn’t. All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was. All the times you wanted to give up but you got through another day. NEVER FORGET HOW MUCH STRENGTH YOU HAVE LEARNED AND DEVELOPED! We are all strong people and deserve what we get 👍🏻🎉
