Today marks the anniversary of Donald Ross's death in 1948. The architect of around 400 golf courses, including the famous Pinehurst No. 2 course, Ross is frequently referred to as the "Father of American golf" for revolutionizing both course design and the game itself. If you would like to learn more about Donald Ross, his courses, or Pinehurst history, visit or contact us at Tufts Archives in Pinehurst.
The statue in Glasgow known as “Homeless Jesus” is actually named “Matthew 25” in reference to a quote from that gospel - "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." The only thing that points to the figure being Jesus is the wounds on the feet. I think this is a brilliant piece. It’s BEHIND a gorgeous church which is also significant.
