Busy Sunday in our world. Church, lunch, and lots of DIY projects around the house! We FINALLY got our laundry room barn door up and it’s white, chippy, and perfect. We can’t wait to show you the final product. But for now, 💤 because tomorrow is that awful day called Monday.
During America's early growth, architectural styles caught on in given regions depending somewhat on which natural resources were available. Brick construction is common from Denver to the Midwest because the region has clay-based soil, including clay mined from the Rockies. Cast-iron buildings were popular in the northeast because coal was mined in Pennsylvania and smelted in urban factories. Then there is Greek Revival, which uses wood, and was thus popular in the heavily-timbered South. Greek Revival became popular following the War of 1812. Americans had fought off the British, and come to view their country as a "new Greece" that valued freedom and democracy. So they began copying Greek architecture. Many of the antebellum slave plantations were (ironically) Greek Revival, and it was a common motif in small towns like Eufaula, AL. ____________________________________________ #eufaula #eufaulaalabama #greekrevival #greekrevivalarchitecture #mansions #neotraditional #architecture #deepsouth #antebellum #alabama #architecturehistory #southerncharm #ioniccolumns #classicalorder
Excuse my wing bone in the picture, buy omg so good!! I watched a bit of #southerncharm
before coming to #charleston #southcarolina
. One of the guys, Shep, listed some recommendations. He actually owns part of this one, I think. It's called #hometeambbq
and it was delicious!! He said the #alabamawhitesauce
was drinkable, and it was indeed. I had a #gamechanger
drink. Then I tried the pork rinds, which they called something else and pimento cheese! I never would have put them together, but it was amazing!! Best pimento cheese ever. Rinds were home made.
When I walked out to Julep Point and saw this scene, I felt for a moment like I stepped back in time and that ladies in early 1900s dresses, carrying parasols, could walk by at any minute. I love classic details that make a wedding day feel timeless, don’t you?! #elizabethgelineauphotography #elizabethgelineauweddings
One morning she woke up different... She was done with trying to figure out who was with her, against her, or walking down the middle because they didn't have the guts to choose a side.... She was done with anything that didn't bring her peace. She realized that opinions were a dime a dozen, validation was for parking, and loyalty isn't a word but a lifestyle.... It was that day she vowed to changed her life. Not because of a man or a job, but because she realized life was too fucking short to leave the key to her happiness in someone else's pocket!
