When I arrived at my casa particular after dark, Mirtha was sitting outside on her steps waiting for me. When I couldn’t understand her fast Spanish, she remained patient & slowed her speech without getting annoyed or giving up all together. When I was in her presence, she would basically force me to eat(whether I was hungry or not) ropa vieja, arroz Congri, arroz con leche, malanga, yuca frita, Maduros, pan con queso, Guayaba , - all being new to me. When I told her I felt sick(vomiting 5 times in one day), she immediately rushed out the door & returned with fresh bread, Malanga, activated charcoal, and hot tea to make me feel better- no questions asked. When I asked her about bus tickets, she spent 3(1 hour waiting on the bus bc Cuba) hours to accompany me to the bus station. When I had no plans, she prompted me to join her in watching her favorite telenovelas. When I left, she gifted me with necklace made out of material that can only be found in Cuba & a piece of her art bc she loved art and she remembered that I did too. .
I’m honestly convinced Mirtha was an Angel. Staying in her home(pictured here) was truly the highlight of my time in Cuba. I spent a lot of time with her - listening to her, going to the market with her, riding the bus with her, eating with her, etc. The way she opened her heart & home - without wanting anything in return - will remain with me forever. Extraordinary experiences like this can’t be achieved by staying at a hotel or resort, they just can’t. It’s moments like this where I am thankful for home-sharing(shoutout @airbnb
) that allow me to see how others live, learn from them, connect with them, and give back to them.
More photos & videos in my IG story later today. Would you ever stay in a stranger’s home?
**KRAKOW** is the most beautiful city in the world ❤️ Do you know why? Because I was born there 🤣 😂😂LOL😂😂 But seriously - google it, check out my story or visit it in a summer time. 📷 : Huawei Mate 9
P.S. I'm not the best ambassador of my country of origin because instead of running around with the camera in my hand, I was enjoying time spend with my family and friends ❤️ It's the only pic I have, sorry Guys 😇😘

Currently dying in bed with the flu so please enjoy this completely unrelated photo of me during happier times🤒What are your go-to cold remedies when you start feeling sick? I’LL TRY ANYTHING. Also: has anyone had a Starbucks Medicine Ball or is that an urban legend? I keep hearing about it and I must know.
The train ride between Kandy and Ella is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in the world. It definitely is but when you don‘t book your seat a few month in advance you have to stand for the whole ride and squeeze in with far too many people. If you‘re unlucky you even can‘t see anything of the beautiful landscape.
Here‘s my tip:
If you haven‘t booked in advance and it’s too crowded you could still ride the train from Ella to Badulla. We had a whole compartment to ourselves and also crossed the famous Nine Arches Bridge.
Have you been here? Burano is another place like Ravello (on the Amalfi Coast) that I felt lucky to discover before Instagram made it famous 🙏 It was soooo peaceful and perfect our first visit! My BF and I were blown away a place like this even existed (and still can’t really wrap my head around it) 😍Nowadays boats of tourists visit on the hour but you can still explore so many quiet corners if you go off the beaten path! Make sure to also explore the back streets and alleys when you go and give yourself a couple hours 😍 In my opinion they’re some of the most charming, authentic pockets of Italy!
Happy Friday everyone! Today on my blog I’m sharing my Porto City Guide that has everything you need to know when planning your Porto trip from where to find the best views to my favorite instagrammable photo spots! Link in bio 🔝🔝🔝
Today was a great adventure 😂 Me and @doremiredo__
, who I met in the Prizren City Hostel set off today to the Mirushi Waterfalls by car 🚙 Google maps lead us to a sandy road that soon became very rocky and impossible to drive, so we decided to make a detour and try another route. This one seemed better, though the fastest we could drive was 5km/h 😂 After 10 minutes on this road in the middle of nowhere we come across two guys walking. We stopped the car to ask them whether we’re going the right way to the waterfall. They frowned their faces, and started speaking in Albanian “jo jo!! Jo ujevara!!” Wrong way 😂 We tried to ask them which way we should take instead, but the communication was complicated since they didn’t understand any English. I pointed to the backseat and asked them if they want to come and show us the way. They seemed excited and jumped into the car. We spoke with our hands and feet and we made it work 😎 After about 30 mins we finally managed to reach the waterfall, and we started hiking up the huge rocks, all the way up the waterfall. The views were stunning and we had a lot of fun trying to communicate 😂 We hiked for about 2 hours and even explored some small caves. They were quite helpful when I decided to climb up a dangerous rock (how to get down now? 😂) When we got hungry we took them to dinner as a way of saying thank you. | 💭🗺🌷 · After having lived in a handful of cities over the past few years, Amsterdam still holds a special place in my heart.
When friends from outside of the Netherlands ask me which places they should visit during their trip to Amsterdam, I find it hard to pinpoint specific places that I think they must see.
In my opinion, it's not the major landmarks that make Amsterdam unique. Instead, I find that the less tangible aspects, such as the city's rich but low-key history and culture, and the Dutch people's efficient lifestyle but easy-going attitude and open mindset, give this city its character. That, and of course, the freshly-made stroopwafels from the local street carts...

One of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals ever built. And the unique harmony and elegance of this church's interior will take your breath away 😇
Running for the weekend. 🏃♂️ Actually, this week flew by!
In this photo, we were driving around looking for a specific lake but came across this one instead. Which we ended up spending most of our time, sliding around. Believe it or not, people were actually playing ice hockey here! The ice is so thick!
Sometimes, plans don’t end up working out and there’s a reason for that. (Most times it’s for the best) Learn to be spontaneous, live life and enjoy what it gives you.
Its Friday which means its time to go make stories for Monday! ↣

All this talk about AOL and chatrooms and A/S/L on my post yesterday made me wonder...what were y'alls first screen names? Mine was fskate64. "Fskate" because I was really into figure skating at the time, and 64 because my birthday is June 4. I then rebranded myself into hyperstarre. Because I was I was always hyper, and "starre" because I liked how that looked, instead of just "star." 💦There is plenty to enjoy in Niagara Falls other than witnessing the majestic waterfalls. Our favorite part was walking passed the little Statue of Liberty on our way to and from the hotel. All the cool photos without the ferry ride!
🗽Where is the most interesting replica you have seen in your travels?
it’s more fun if you just let the wind blow
