This picture was not supposed to happen. I had just returned home from Newark Airport having dropped off my wife. That airport run, did not go as planned. Since the curb side check in computers were down, I had to get back to my vehicle which was double parked in the departures lane so the good bye was exceptionally quick. As I left the airport, I decided that perhaps I should go check on her, so I parked my car at the top of the full parking garage and then bounded down four flights to steps to get to ground level. I then received a phone call from an unknown number. It was my wife letting me know that we left her cell phone in the car, and if I was still there could I bring it back. I said I would and then bounded back up the four flights and then ran back down yet again. I then ran to the terminal, we found each other and she got on a very long security line. I turned around walked through the terminal, out to the garaged and back up the four flights of stairs, got in the car and then navigated back home through rush hour traffic. My daughter was on her commute home from school but decided to go to friend's house and asked if I could pick her up later. My son, at college, in NJ was supposed to come home for the weekend on Saturday morning. So that gave me a couple of hours to drive the couch. I got a call from a friend and he asked if I wanted to go out of for a beer, and normally I would have, but felt that the couch was the right place to be in my holding pattern for the next couple of hours, after a long week on a Friday night. That was not meant to be... My son's schedule changed a bit and called me up to see if I was free to come get him that evening itself. I thought about how much smoother my Saturday morning would go, so I put our dog back in the sunroom, and jumped back in the car and drove back to NJ.
This shot was taken from his campus. It was still pretty cold for it being April, but I knew I wanted something out of the night, cold or no cold, tired or not. Hope you enjoy it.
