NOTHING CHANGES IF NOTHING CHANGES. I know this seems blatantly obvious but before completely committing to recovery, I would be like “can’t I recover without gaining all the weight back?” “Isn’t there a way I can still be this thin without starving to death?” “Can’t I figure out how to be happy without changing anything?”... the answer is no, babes. You cannot reap the beautiful rewards of recovery (happiness, freedom, better grades, better relationships, etc) without doing the parts that scare us: weight restoration. Caloric intake increases. Cutting off exercise. Admitting you have an illness. You cannot say goodbye to anorexia without doing the things anorexia hates the most and discovering that they’re not nearly as bad as anorexia told you they’d be. You can’t heal your mind without healing your body, and vise versa. I see so many people get stuck in quasi recovery: that cycle of eating enough, then feeling guilty and restricting, and then doing it all again. You’re all brave badass bitches who can conquer this, I promise you. But my one piece of advice for all of you out there who are having the thoughts of “I want to recover but I just CAN’T” I feel you. My parents once tried to get me to eat a piece of bread and I sobbed in anguish because I wanted to but couldn’t. Believe me. I feel you. If you’re in that situation, here’s what you do: you tell someone that you need help. Whether that be your parents or another trusted family member or friend, tell someone that you need help and ask them to hold you accountable to it. Sometimes you just need someone to make sure you’ve been going to therapy and the doctor. Sometimes you need someone to eat with you at every meal to hold you accountable (shout-out to my mom for coming to eat lunch with me EVERY DAY when I went back to school for like the first two months). What i needed was my parents saying things like “if you don’t stick to your meal plan, you can’t go to band practice”. For all of you who did/still do marching band, you know that’s not an option😂 •
My point is that you can do this no matter what, but there’s no shame in asking for help. I did💗

Here’s how to make a mason jar salad: Add the dressing to a 32 oz jar, layer with crisp veggies first, then add your grains/beans, next layer your protein, seeds/nuts, and then fill the rest with greens. Seal jar tightly and store in fridge all week. When you’re ready to eat dump in a bowl and enjoy. ❤️
If you’re new to meal prepping just choose the meal or snack you struggle with most! If it’s breakfast, prep all your breakfasts for the week. Or if it’s your afternoon snack, cut up some veggies and portion out hummus so it’s quick to grab something healthy.
