Pretty excited for my sub 7:00 pace on a .25 relay lap around the track 😁🔥 even more so considering I had to eat a slice of pie as fast as possible AND then take off running 😂 my first pie relay mile was amazing and hilarious 😁 (5.25 miles for the night ✔️)

Today I just didn't have it in me. I tried and failed. I think I have overdone it these last few weeks with everything that has ben going on and I am just exhausted. I got on the treadmill today to run, got 1/4 of the way in and realized my head just wasn't in the game. I finished up my mile, mostly walking, did my 40 squats and called it a day. Can't win 'em all!

is to holidays last year with my beautiful family ☀️🙏 I always now take my running stuff with me on holiday, and last year, managed to talk my Sister & her Hubby Kev into joining me on a run each 🏃🏽♀️🏃♂️ All of us run at different speeds, but it doesn't matter, what matters, is spending that time together, being outside, enjoying the fresh air and getting Active 👌☀️ We where staying in Wareham Forest lodges, and so we got to run in the beautiful woodlands. This morning I ran to spin class, and learned that my Garmin really hates the tall buildings here. I've had the same problem in Cleveland and Chicago. Yuck. Is my watch going to be useless for the #tcsnycmarathon
Being Detroit Freep/Chemical Bank Runner of the Week combined with being Humanitarian of the Day is going to leave big shoes for next week's winner! As today was World Refugee Day, my plan was to go run with the group to the Lincoln Memorial for a candlelight vigil. But, on the way, there was a medical emergency on the subway which involved me! When the train braked coming into the station, this man lost his balance and fell into me from across the aisle. As I grabbed him to avert him from landing on the floor, I realized that he was shaking and was clearly in shock. One leg raised off the floor wouldn't relax and the blank stare of fear meant he was in trouble. Others came to help lower him to the floor (he was not a small man) while a woman contacted the train operator to get help. He began to snap out of his daze in a few minutes as WMATA personnel arrived on the scene. I continued on my way at this point.
It was a cold and rainy night, but we did it. The second annual Sunset Run for Refugees is done. We didn't have the same size as last year, but it was still a nice size considering the weather. It was not easy standing there in the cold rain while the speakers, one after another, took the microphone to enlighten us of their stories under a tent, but then you think: a few minutes standing here in comparison to the hell that they've, and continually still some of their family, have endured. Peace on Earth, Goodwill to men should be more than a Hallmark card greeting. 2.93 miles / 89.19 MTD

This was an awful 3.1 Miles. I wanted to stop the whole time. I just felt slow and my feet felt like bricks. It was just one of those unhappy runs.
In spite of that, I’m still glad that I got out there and ran.
Not every run can be awesome. I don’t always want to get out and run. Some days I just want to stay inside and relax. But it is important to get out there and go even when I’m not feeling it. And I’m always happy when I do.
If you want to burn fat and build lean runners legs... you gotta do effective muscle building moves, like the side lunge. It primarily strengthens your glut maximus , glut medius, glut minimus, quadriceps and hip adductors. It also gets you core, pelvic floor, hamstrings, erector spinae, multifidus, tibialis anterior and the gastric/soleus complex to name a few because it is multi joint and dynamic. It helps strengthen to power up your core and align your hips and knees so you keep good form as you build distance. Are you strength training yet? Whether your goals are to get started, go faster, stronger, longer or reduce your risk of injury, strength training rules. inspired me with her post today. The first few weeks back running after a marathon is HARD!!! I’m running at what used to be my easy paces and they HURT!! It’s hard to be patient and wait for the fitness to come back, but that’s what it’s all about—showing up every day and putting in the work!! 🙏🏽

Diese Woche werden auch nochmal ein paar Kilometer gesammelt bis zum Halbmarathon in Stuttgart am Sonntag 💪🏼🏃🏻♀️. Wenn die zweite Jahreshälfte dann auch so gut läuft wird es vielleicht sogar was mit den 3000km, mal sehen 🍀🙃
