Morning!! Have you ever finished a race (say a half marathon) and your watch shows 13.5 instead of 13.1? Janae (@hungryrunnergirl
) posted these great graphics on her blog. During the Savannah Marathon in 2012, I ended up running next to the nicest guy. His wife was also running the race, but due to their difference in speeds- they never race together. Instead, they do what they call the "Garmin Challenge." At the end of each race, they see who ran the shortest distance. He laughed as he turned a sharp corner, knowing that his wife would be doing the same. He said it motivates him to think about his wife during the race even when they aren't running next to each other. As someone who has a much speedier husband (@eddie_ferg
💨)I loved this idea! It does make you giggle when you find yourself running as close to the curb as possible :) All of that crowd weaving is a waste of energy and could have you adding miles and losing the "Garmin Challenge." Have you ever done this with your spouse? A friend?
