Berlin is known for its alternative way. Alternative in a sense of thinking, living and… clothes! Obviously, it is a heaven for the vintage-lovers of all epochs and ages. Having a chance to come to Berlin for a couple of day, I searched for the lists of the vintage and second hand shops to visit and… could not find a one fitting me. Thus, I have decided to write my own, in order to help all those retro and vintage souls heading to the capital of Germany and willing to spend an hour or more on vintage shopping. Here is my top (not paid by anyone and expressing my subjective opinion only :)): 1. "Humana" (#humanasecondhand
)– probably the best known second-hand chain in Europe. There are several shops all over Berlin, the most famous one being straight next to U-Bahn “Frankfurter Tor”. Four floors of pure pleasure – the last one full of real vintage treasures, sorted by epochs and colours.
2. "Pick&Weight" (#pickandweightberlin
)– another famous chain. The shops are big and bright. And there are a lot of accessories as well – hats, scarfs, shoes, etc. Most of the things are sold per kilo (that's what the name is about). But you do not need to buy a kilo, of course. The one I visited was just a couple of minutes from U-Bahn Gneisenaustr.
Plus, there is a bunch of smaller shops one can visit, in case of spare time, like "Collect" (U-Bahn Moritzplatz) or “Something coloured” (U-Samariterstr.). But the first two are my absolute favorite ones!
In case you have you favorite one, which I did not list here, feel free to write it in a comment, so I can use an opportunity and visit it next time :)
