Looking back, Nida feels that her only frustration is being typecast as strictly a comedy-musical star.
"When Nestor entered the picture kasi, puro gan'on nalang ang ginawa namin (that's all we ever did). I talked to some komiks writers and convinced them to run drama vehicles for me. Mga tatlong nobela 'yun (there were three novels), like 'Malvarosa', ang retrato ng bida, kamukha ko (the picture of the lead role look like me). But the role ultimately went to Charito (Solis). I also wanted to be recognized as a good dramatic actress. After all, my role in 'Korea' was drama. But Doña Sisang told me, 'Sa musical ka nalang. Bigay nalang natin kila Charito at Rosa (Rosal) 'yang drama at prestige!' (Just stay in the musical. Let's just give the drama and prestige to Charito and Rosa (Rosal)
But then, when I consider now that I might not have stayed where I am now had I just been another drama actress, wala na rin akong regrets (I don't have any regrets). Perhaps though, if I would start all over again, hindi na sa pag-aartista (not in acting anymore). What I really wanted was to study and be a professional. I think I would have made a good lawyer. Kaya my daughter (Katherine, who turned eighteen last August), I told her if she had any plans of getting into show business, magtapos muna siya (finish her school first). But she's more inclined to singing. Even now, there are some offers for her to cut her first single."
