A few weeks ago we went to @vegexpo
and had the privilege of attending @domzthompson
's talk on the masculinity of compassion and how that relates to living a non violent lifestyle. (☝️follow him for a refreshing dose of authenticity and inspiration). It was inspiring AF and I left with a renewed sense of purpose as a human navigating the weirdness of social media and understanding my impact within it. Between that and consuming some pretty mind blowing fare at the @yamchopsto
booth, I was walking on clouds.
The most awesome part about this day was that my family was there experiencing it with me. They didn't understand my transition to a vegan lifestyle at first and looked at me sideways for awhile. But a little info and observation led them to transitioning primarily to a plant based lifestyle themselves. My Dad took this pic, calling us his "veggie" girls. If you want a living breathing definition of the word Love, look no further than him. He is it. So of course he would be open to a movement that at its core is simply trying to normalize leading a life of nonviolence to others, inclusive of animals. Compassion
Shout out to all the men in this world who are redefining the stale archetype of the rib-tearing, steak-eating "man". Who have reclaimed their humanity and heart and who are leading us to a future that includes a hell of a lot less turmoil and way more love, compassion, authenticity. That includes you, @j.gcouture
❤️. If you made it this far, thanks for reading my novel 😁. Also, love you, Dad @geraldmartin7998
