Happy Sunday💗 This is my newest creation, and I absolutely love how it turned out!🐦Go check it out on my shop!
I thought of this as my “windows and stars” quilt when I was designing it, so that’s what I’ll call it. It’s my favorite quilt I’ve made so far because it feels like the right mix of everything — tradition and modernism, precision and wabi-sabi, softness and sweet panache. Just where I want to be.

I’m on my way to Porto but had a quick stopover at home to see my mom and pick up a friend. Here’s a quilt I made for my mom a while ago with some batik cats that she liked. I like the quilting I did on this. 😸

I love the colors and textures and how it's coming together! Got most of the binding made Friday only to learn that there is apparently a tool for it! #facepalm
Quilt done by a student in Carol's Walking foot class. It demonstrates techniques learned in class, as you can see sometimes the back of the quilt can show the quilting better than the front. #quilt #quilting #walkingfoot #quiltsofinstagram

Hawaiian vacation and Hawaiian quilting class, what can be better! 😁👙🌴🍍☕
For the past several weeks I've been pretty swamped with custom orders and also restocking for craft shows.
This order, which I completed this morning, is probably one of the most meaningful orders I've ever completed for someone.
I was contacted by a man who requested to have a quilt made from his son's hockey jerseys, his son played hockey from the age of five until he was seventeen. Unfortunately, he lost his son about three years ago and wanted to give the quilt to his wife for Christmas. 💓
His story brought tears to my eyes when he first reached out to me. Although its not traditionally something that I would do, I said yes in a heartbeat.
I knew that it would mean less time to work on craft show stock and it also meant declining many other orders that I received while I worked on this quilt. But I know that this ONE order will mean more to this amazing family than a hundred other orders combined.
And this, this feeling that I have right now, is exactly why I do what I do. Its the reason why I wake up extra early everyday and why I often stay up very late, working at my sewing machine. I really think that if you have a skill or a talent, that you need to share that with the world. Even if it means bringing joy and comfort to just one family, it can really do wonders on your heart. 💓
