Week 1... โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € So week 1 of my #berlinmarathon training plan done and thankfully this has been 1 of my playgrounds ๐ŸŒณ โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Last week called for a mix of functional training sessions and running drills / interval sessions. Absolutely loved trying out cadence running with my metronome and even managed to shave over 1min/km off my current speed ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Last week also saw my first plan adjustment. Now when many people create a training plan they feel like they have to stick to it 100% but sometimes thatโ€™s not possible or smart. Last week was crazy busy for me and would have seen me having to get up at 6:30am on Sunday, to fit in my session. I woke up at 6:30am and felt horrible - I could barely open my eyes, my head was hurting and it felt like the beginning of a cold - I knew my body needed rest! So, instead of putting it under more stress, I reset the alarm for the time I needed to get up by and had another 1.5 hrs sleep. I woke up later feeling far better and ready for the busy day ahead. So what happened to my session? Well I made some sensible adjustments to this week and managed to fit it in this morning but if I hadnโ€™t, it wouldnโ€™t have been the end of the world because I listened to what my body was telling me and adjusted. This has meant Iโ€™ve woken up ready to tackle a new week rather than be broken and possibly worse off than yesterday. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Always remember to listen! This will will plenty of calories and create growth in the muscles.
