Did you know: Carbohydrates are our main source of energy for our brain and working muscles and provide a sense of well-being. Our evening meals should be primarily made up of carbohydrates such as whole grain pasta, rice, potatoes and other starchy foods. Carbs should be combined with fresh veggies a hardy salad or both! Carbs assist the release of the brain chemical serotonin, which helps regulate our sleep patterns and pain tolerance as well as enhancing mood. Many people think they should cut out carbohydrates in order to lose weight or be healthy by its not true. Carbs, like all foods, should be eaten in moderation. Excessive amounts of carbohydrates will be stored in our body as fat. So before you buy into “carbs are bad” look at all of the wonderful benefits they have on our body💪🏼 #ILoveCarbs #Cleaneating #Nutrition #DietitiantoBe #Foodforthought #Loveyourbody #Balance #PortionControl #Justsayin
I’ve noticed I’ve garnered a few new followers over the past couple of days, and I have received a lot of messages asking about my weight loss, diet, and exercise routine.
While I would love to get back to you all individually (and I am trying to), I decided to make this general post answering some of those most frequently asked questions.
Sorry, I know the text is small, but give it a swipe through, read it, and leave a comment or message! I want to know your thoughts, concerns, questions, and etc.
More than anything, I want you all to know that I am here to help, send support, and give motivation. I am so incredibly inspired and excited to have this opportunity to share my journey with you all.
Lots of love!

Do you struggle making good choices with your nutrition?
I don’t know why I’m always so surprised when I travel about how hard it is to find healthy food.
It’s such a reminder about how it makes sense that we struggle with good nutrition and obesity in this country.
I was reflecting back to the unhealthy choices I used to make before I started my health and fitness journey 3 years ago and I was 4 sizes bigger than I am now.
Nobody wants to be overweight.
Nobody wants to be unhealthy and tired. Nobody wants to be deprived of the things they like.
I wasn’t as healthy as I am now, because I was uninformed about food.
I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
I used to eat a pointless breakfast that wasn’t setting up to start my day with the fuel I needed.
I’d skip lunch.
I’d eat unhealthy snacks.
I’d think a late afternoon drive-through was a good option.
I would be ravenous when I got home from work and continue to make unhealthy choices I didn’t even realize weren’t the healthiest options.
Fast forward to now and while I definitely enjoy treats while traveling, and even may have indulged in some chocolate super foods protein waffles when I got home. Tonight is back on track with zoodles and shrimp.
I had no idea there were such amazing health and nutrition resources available to me and how much I would learn and grow. I’m so excited about our new mindful eating training certification program that’s coming out soon. Do you want to get trained with me and co-lead mindful nutrition group? Message me for details🙋♂️🙋♀️
It’s your Friday morning reminder that there’s no such thing as good calories and bad calories, they’re just calories.
Some foods have more nutrients (like fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals) than others but that doesn’t make them good or bad or give them any moral value.
That makes them “energy dense” (more calories than nutrients) or “nutrient dense” (more nutrients for less calories), and that sure doesn’t make you bad or good depending on which one you eat.
Eating cherries 🍒 and string cheese doesn’t make you any “better” than if you ate the same number of calories in goldfish crackers.
Your overall health is determined by what you do MOST of the time, not ALL of the time. Health is not black and white or all or nothing.
Should you eat nutrient dense food most of the time, of course! But it’s about finding that balance between the nutrient dense food (fruit, veggies, whole grains, beans etc.) that you like and still allowing yourself to have “fun” food without guilt or restriction.
So let’s remove a bit of stress around food and see calories for what they are, a unit of energy. If you’re listening to your body you’ll know which foods to eat and when. That’s the beauty of #intuitiveeating

Do you struggle during the work week❓
So I haven’t shared my Sunday routine in a while. Why? I fell off these last 3 weeks and I have just been winging it through the week, but I have been eating clean 🥦🥑🍠🍓🍗 just not getting in all my colors 💜❤️🧡💛💚💙. So I’m back on track this week. I rather be ready for the work week. I have so much going on in my life with working full-time, working my online business, appointments for myself and my daughter, making sure my daughter makes it to work and picked up, taking her to summer school. Meal Prep is a life saver in my world so I don’t fall off track and I have more time to focus on other things that are important throughout the week. Today’s meal prep only took me 2 1/2 hours to make lunch and supper for the week for myself. I also made my daughter lunch for the week. :

1/3 cheese onion bun
1/3 leftover burger
Handful takeout fries and salad on a side plate.
Magazine for size reference. I eat what I want as long as it fits on this smaller plate. Satisfying my flavour cravings in this way allows me to stick to my Isagenix lifestyle with shakes for the other 2 meals

First step in any goal is CONSISTENCY! Especially when it comes to your food. Jumping into drastic diet changes is just setting up for failure. 1. It’s usually not sustainable over time. 2. You have no baseline to gauge your progress off of. Start with some consistency in your meals. Healthy, balanced portions through out the day for an extended period of time. That alone should help see some progress. Then, if needed, look into tweaking things. #sundaymealprep #lessonoflife #consistency #progress #nodiet #lifestyle #change #wellbalanced #portioncontrol #happysunday
Guess what I'm making!
After a weekend of struggling to stay on point with my eating I am jumping back in the nutrition pool by meal prepping.
I am far from perfect and thats ok. Some people struggle with exercises but the hardest part is changing your mind and staying committed to the food. If you can stay consistent with all three then you will be golden and the results will happen. Your body wont go where the mind wont.
I told myself I am never going back to that person who was 240 plus pounds and I meant it. I'm challenging myself to push past my comfort zone and get back on track. Im working on my consistency. The beauty of the journey are the hills and valleys.
No comparisons point blank period.
What I struggle with may not be your struggle. But we all have struggles we all have stressors that trigger us. The world knows when we are making changes in our lives and things appear to test our strength. Surround yourself with people that can encourage you past your weak moments. Even if you fall get up dust yourself off and keep pushing. Its your life you have to live it. You have to be happy. Its about you and no one else when it comes to what makes your health and what makes you happy.
Embrace the journey don't run from it and if you like me are having a bad day, week, weeks, or months, know that you are in control and only You can change it.
Tonight’s dinner was absolutely delicious! If I would have known ab the avocado sauce before I honestly think I would have used it before I was eating healthier. Yes i had a little under a cup of wheat noodles as well...all about portion control. I’m hanging in there so far. Gotta keep it up! #portioncontrol #avocadosauce #bakedchicken #wheatpasta
So many wonderful places in Indy on my Coach Summit trip ✨ It was my first time ever in Indy and I was so excited and grateful to see all the vegan options everywhere compared to my city where its near impossible. Even my hotel had a vegan breakfast option 👏🏼 this balsamic mushroom taco and the grapefruit fizzy I had at nada was one of my favorites!
I’m so proud of this girl! She’s been leading by example since the day she joined my team.
Which is actually a funny story....she joined me on this health and fitness journey because I was headed to Nashville with my family of coaches and she didn’t want to get FOMO.
She knew very little about this coaching opportunity, but she sure does know how to “BELIEVE IN HERSELF”
That was 2 years ago now, and in these last 2 years she’s grown and learned SO MUCH, all while helping others improve their lives.
Some of you may know, but in case you don’t, Gabby hosts private health and fitness accountability groups behind the scenes every month. She’s one of the main reason I’ve been able to drop 8 dress sizes.
She’s building a huge community of love and support that provides a safe place for her friends to share about their journey.
Not only is she helping folks get healthy she’s also building a tribe of her own that even joined her on this years trip with our coaching family to Indy.
All because she “BELIEVED IN HERSELF”
If you’re ready to make some positive changes to your health, drop your favorite emoji below because Gabby’s your girl.
She will help you every step of the way because she “BELIEVES IN YOU” just like she believed in me!
