Banded KB Swings
Add a new twist to your regular kettlebell swings! Anchor a loop band at hip height and bring the band across the hips. Step out to give tension to the band and swing away. This is great for maximum glute contraction👌🏼. Remember this is a “hinge” movement not a “squat”! Using my @onnit

Stop looking for the “perfect” time to get healthier. That doesn’t exist. If it did, don’t you think most of us would’ve accomplished almost everything we’ve wanted in life by now? Life always throws us curve balls and it just comes out to deciding how we are going to deal with it. Give yourself some credit and realize you can accomplish whatever you want. People with the same “problems” as you are using those “problems” as motivation to succeed. Use it to your advantage or just settle for an excuse. Excuses don’t give you results. Powering through with the mental mindset that you can handle anything thrown your way will. Mind over matter. Change your mind, change your life 💪🏽

! Thanks to your post yesterday I now know what macro and micronutrients are. But now I have a followup question for you.
In what circumstance would it be beneficial for me to count my macros, or is this something I shouldn’t worry about?
I believe counting your macros is definitely beneficial in a few circumstances. I will spread this answer out over the next few posts. If you don’t want to miss out then be sure to set your notifications!
You are tracking your caloric intake in order to:
•Lose body fat
•Maintain your current weight
•Increase muscle mass.
So how do macros come into play in terms of calorie counting?
Every single macronutrient has a caloric (energy) value assigned to it.
Carbohydrate (sugar): 4 calories per gram
Protein: 4 calories per gram
Fats (lipids): 9 calories per gram
Just for funsies: 3500 calories = 1 lb
Now let’s say that you want to drop body fat while retaining as much muscle as possible during your cut. In this example we’ve already identified your maintenance caloric intake to be 2500 calories per day.
So what we would do is drop your daily caloric level by 300 per day to start and see how your body reacts. That means you would omit 2100 calories from your diet the first week.
You might ask: Why would we not do 500 per day if 3500 calories = 1 lb. My reply would be, because you are not taking into account your activity level, your current metabolism rate, or a variety of other factors.
To play it safe we want to aim to lose 1-1.5 lbs/week instead of the traditional 1.5-2 lbs/week so we can spare as much muscle as possible.
I find that if a client loses 2 + lbs per week their strength goes with it, and subsequently more muscle. But if your goal is purely one of fat loss then we’ll shift our approach.

Little dick energy 💪🏼 been enjoying not having my life revolve around trying to get big. Been more focused on enjoying life lately and getting back to my roots. I still workout but more functional based now. Btw totally not knocking ANYONE on if they want to get big! But my body felt like it was falling apart the more I got wrapped up in it. Lost size but I’m happier mentally. I may not be able to lift much but I can swim, climb, jump and run like a god damn minx 😂

Have to give a shout out to my challenger Crystal, for seriously kicking butt these past 80 days! Three months ago she came to me unsure if she could do this. I got her to commit to one month all in and we’ll go from there. Well, here we are 3 months later and she is literally a BEAST! She didn’t miss a single workout! And she’s a mom of FIVE little ones! Still finding time for herself in the daily routine of motherhood. Andddd she has committed to another 3 months. I can’t wait to watch her continue her journey and I get to cheer her on every step of the way. Let’s shower her with love! 💪🏼🎉👏🏼
It can be so overwhelming when you first begin your fitness and health journey.
There is so much information out there and every single one of them claims to be the “right” way.
But here’s the thing...
The fitness and health industry is forever evolving.
There will always be different fads, different diets, different training styles, etc.
No one way is the only way.
The key is not to let it all overwhelm you and quit. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! That’s why there are coaches, nutritionists, and trainers 🙋🏼♀️
But if you can’t afford to make the investment in your health, here’s some recommendations on where to start:
1️⃣Start replacing some not so healthy habits with healthier ones. For example, stop drinking your calories everyday and replace those sodas with water! Instead of always taking the elevator, try taking the stairs 👌🏻
2️⃣Start being active! Find a form of exercise you enjoy. Hiking, running, lifting, dancing, etc. The possibilities are endless! 🏃🏼♂️💃🏼🏋🏼♀️
3️⃣Start incorporating more whole foods into your diet. Ditch the fast food and go for foods that will make you FEEL good from the inside out. But NO RESTRICTION. Think 80% nutrient dense foods and 20% fun foods! 🍎🥦🍠🍩🍪🍦
There is no wrong or right way here.
Whatever you choose to follow, make sure you do it for YOU not because so and so does it.
At the end of the day, it’s your overall HEALTH that is the most important. 💪🏻🤗

These are all signs of FEAR we have built up in our minds. -
Most of the time you say these things without even attempting what you already say you are not capable of doing, due to FEAR of failing.
Just because you are not capable the first try, does not mean with practice and hard work you can’t get there.
I am chasing a 405lb bench press, although I can’t get it today doesn’t stop me from working towards getting there.
Every day show up put in the work that is required and more, that’s how you’ll get there.
Over the last few years I’ve realized we are capable of so much more then we can Fatham.
Only problem we tell ourselves so many times we are not capable or things aren’t realistically in reach, when in reality they are. You are just letting these fears control you.
Look fear in the eye daily and tell yourself you are better, surround yourself with people who will push you to be bigger and better.

I drink a ton of water and pee a lot, so I am hydrated!😂
This is such a false claim everyone, and drinking even more water to stay 'hydrated' will only flush your system even more, causing you to pee out all that H2O.💧💧👎
If you aren't already getting the electrolytes through food alone, which most of us don't, then you really aren't hydrated.😬😱
Electrolytes produce an electrical solution when combined with water allowing the water to become better absorbed, also these electrolytes play a key role in retaining fluids and maintaining a proper fluid balance.🙌
The key things to look for to know if you aren't properly hydrated are fatigue, constant headaches, cramps and constant urination!😯

I eat like anyone else 😂😂. Since I am committed to 90-100% clean diet for six to eight months I look forward to my off season now. I say 90 to 100 bc I snacked on candy during my last prep and maybe had a slice of pizza 🍕 🤭💁🏾♀️😢💀. I am focused on committing to a well balanced lifestyle that works for me. So, I have ate the foods I love to eat that aren’t in my regular diet from May until yesterday. I would monitor portions and give myself something different to look forward to every other week. Wings, cajun fries, bacon cheese burger, pizza, steak, bbq, seafood, egg rolls, pasta, Oreo milkshake, ice cream, cookies, donuts, cobbler, pretzels, macaroni, cheese sandwich, pop tarts, Gold fish, boiled peanuts and candy. .

How to be good at pull ups 101:
Step 1: Take your shirt off. This will force you to constantly engage your core for the sake of not letting your food baby show.
Step 2: Jump up to the pull up bar and start pulling.
Step 3: When you don't think you can pull anymore, try one more rep and maybe fail at another.
Step 4: Jump down like you're exhausted from pushing yourself and look annoyed that you didn't get more repetitions.
Repeat 3-4 times

The lifter in me won against the trainer in me today 😭. Today was supposed to be heavy singles, but I tweaked my left hip a little yesterday and decided to be stubborn today. 🙃
