Prebiotic compote✨ perfect for sneaking into my kiddies’ porridge, or as ‘apple jam’ on toast🤗 ____________________ 1kg apples 150g dates Splash of water ____________________ Peel, core and chop the apples into small chunks. Place in a pan with a splash of water and cook on a medium heat for 10minutes until softening. Meanwhile finely chop the dates. Add the dates to the apples and stir. Simmer for a further 5-10minutes until all soft. Optional extra - stir in a spoon of coconut oil. Store in an airtight jar. Enjoy🍏

Hello beautiful humans!! How are you today? 🔅🔅🔅 Something that has changed for me in the last few years is my mood. Over the past year I have become far more positive and enthusiastic! This week I’ve been so excited for every single day. I’ve just focused more on what I want and doing what I love, so that I can feel good. Something that I do that really helps lift my mood is to think about how much I really do appreciate this life, and I remind myself that this is MY life and I only supposedly get to live once! For me this is a great way to get out of any sadness or frustration, and really soak up those good vibes. It also helps push me to take more risks and not give a damn what other people think about me. Yes, I do have bad days, but I’ve chosen to not hold onto them and let myself move forward instead. I’d rather be happy than negative or down all of the time, wouldn’t you? So some other things that I recommend doing to lift your spirit and whack a huge smile on your face is👇🏻 🌸dance to some groovy music and shake yo body 🌸eat nourishing food & don’t feel guilty for treating yourself with some delicious chocolate or sweet treats (vegan of cause) 🌸make some noise. Yes! Sing, shout, tap to the beat. 🌸connect with positive people and have engaging conversations 🌸think of 3 things you are grateful for at the end of each day 🌸hug someone. Hug everyone 🌸do something you love. Paint, make food, get creative 🌸do something physical. Stretch, run, walk in nature, float in the ocean. 🌸make a nice warm cup of cacao, or if it’s summer, have chilled drink to refresh your day. I hope that this was helpful. Make sure you do at least two of these things today, and see how much better you start feeling after each activity!! - Here’s what I put in my smoothie bowl this morning~ Frozen banana, frozen mango, cashew milk, cacao powder, & @resilient_health_ wild blueberry powder. I was listening to a podcast episode on Super Soul Conversations with Oprah. She was interviewing Diana Nyad about her swim from Cuba to Florida at age 60- a feat considered impossible. . During the interview Diana shared a profound truth about life and it really resonated with me. . I know that life is filled with trauma and difficult times. Experiences can really shake us. I’ve had experiences that really shook me. . Despite what has happened to you, it’s important to remember that life is truly beautiful and wonderful. . There is so much to be grateful for in our life. There is so much to smile about each and everyday. . My hope is that your experiences, no matter what they are, don’t change your beautiful smile. And that you find joy in the little things, like this wonderful Summer weekend. ☺️

I want people to sometimes take a moment and ask themselves, “Does this taste good?” “Does my body feel good after?” Or “Is this what I want?” We compare what we eat to others. We tell ourselves its a goal to eat like ‘XYZ’. Yet we don’t take time to understand what works best for our bodies. We also hide and shame ourselves for eating the bad foods at times. It’s an unhealthy cycle. . . . I learned that real ingredients works well for my body. It has taken years for me to learn what works and what does not In terms of food. I know I shouldn’t drink more than one cup of coffee a day(and probs just stick to matcha as my body does even better with that). And that I shouldn’t eat cheap chocolate. However, when I learn more about chemicals and fillers for foods and play around with brands I learn what my body can handle. REAL food. If it’s processed and from a factory my body will hate it. So let the treats come, let the carbs come so long as it comes with real ingredients. If you can’t afford local, non gmo, grass feed, etc products. That’s totally okay. Just make sure your getting your fruits and veggies on. If you treat yourself to dessert, enjoy the damn moment and don’t let anyone make you feel bad. Cheers my friends and happy Friday. . . . . . . Tonight’s dinner had some Greek flavor!! 😋 🍴 Chicken souvlaki with tzatziki sauce and Greek salad with whole grain naan flatbread. 😋🤤 😍 What a great recipe! 👍 INGREDIENTS For Souvlaki Marinade 10 garlic cloves, peeled 2 tbsp dried oregano 1 tsp dried rosemary 1 tsp sweet paprika 1 tsp each Kosher salt and black pepper 1/4 cup Private Reserve Greek extra virgin olive oil 1/4 cup dry white wine Juice of 1 lemon 2 bay leaves For Chicken 2 1/2 lb organic boneless skinless chicken breast, fat removed, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces INSTRUCTIONS Prepare the marinade. In the bowl of a small food processor, add garlic, oregano, rosemary, paprika, salt, pepper, olive oil, white wine, and lemon juice (do NOT add the dried bay leaves yet). Pulse until well combined. Place chicken in a large bowl and add bay leaves. Top with marinade. Toss to combine, making sure chicken is well-coated with marinade. cover tightly and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight (see note for quicker marinating option.) Soak 10 to 12 wooden skewers in water for 30 to 45 minutes or so. Prepare Tzatziki sauce and other fixings, and if you’re adding Greek salad or other sides, prepare those as well. (some sides like roasted garlic hummus may take longer, you can prepare those in advance). When ready, thread marinated chicken pieces through the prepared skewers. Prepare outdoor grill (or griddle). Brush grates with a little oil and heat over medium-high heat. Place chicken skewers on grill (or cook in batches on griddle) until well browned and internal temperature registers 155° on instant read thermometer. Be sure to turn skewers evenly to cook on all sides, about 5 minutes total. (Adjust temperature of grill if necessary). While grilling, brush lightly with the marinade (then discard any left marinade). Transfer chicken to serving platter and let rest for 3 minutes. 🍎 cider vinegar I read about apple cider vinegar and the idea that it may help promote weight loss (research before practicing always!) so I bought a bottle. Upon searching Pinterest for what other benefits it may have I learned it could also be used in a skin care routine as a toner for those with oily,acne prone and scarred skin. As if the article were made for me! I have begun taking a couple tablespoons in a cup of water a couple times a week for the weight loss benefits and using it as a toner twice a day and I honestly feel that it works!
