Check out are awesome member spotlight Lisa on our Facebook page and see why she loves FIT36 PARKER!! Here is some amazing things Lisa has to say about her journey!
What is your favorite thing about FIT36? Wow, I have so many favorites, so I will go with my top 3: (1) The Coaches are AMAZING (specifically April and Taylor, with whom I’ve trained), it’s like have a personal coach in a team environment, you can’t hide and they make you WORK! Occasionally, we have an all women class and the music turns to Girl Power Anthems that make the workout even better! (2) The Workout, they are fast, effective, and push you to work harder. The workouts change every two weeks, but everyday is like a different workout because there are always three different circuits (Push, Pull, and Pulse—I don’t have a favorite between the three, they are all tough and fun)! (3) The Staff and Community at Fit36 Parker—I don’t know if it is just the Parker community is wonderful or we are fortunate and have the best of Parker working at Fit36. I felt like I belonged the very first workout! It’s like Cheers, everyone knows your name!
How has FIT36 made a difference in your life?
Honestly, FIT36 gave me life! I needed to get back in shape—I had been working 90 hour weeks nonstop and took a break. I found FIT36 on Facebook and decided to give it a try. My blood pressure was out of whack, I could barely climb multiple flights of stairs without being winded, I was a MESS. I was afraid that first day, but because everyone in the class had the same look on their faces as I did as the various circuit moves were being demonstrated, I figured it couldn’t be THAT bad. I won’t lie, it was HARD, but I got through it—April was my first coach/instructor and the entire time she kept pushing and wouldn’t let ANY of us give up on ourselves. At the end of that first class, I knew I would return. Since then, I have lost fat and gained muscle, I feel MUCH better, I have more energy than I have had in the last 2 years, and I look forward to the workout daily! I have my life back!
We emphasize that even though you come here for a group workout, it is still YOUR workout. The group is there to cheer you on and add to the supportive environment. When you workout be okay with knowing your limits, your challenges, and what you are capable of. Yes you workout in a group, but everyone is different and works out differently. Be proud of what your body can do and what you achieve. You are capable and strong, but your strength is yours, you do not come here to compare you come here to watch yourself grow mentally and change physically. Every workout you complete is a positive for you. Every time you improve in a circuit you show growth. Let your coaches know if you want challenges, or a modification because they will make sure they make the workout FIT you! Come in and give your workout all you can and most of all have fun and be proud of what you can do!
Ok, so maybe I’m a bit of an alarmist 🤷🏾♀️. In a nutshell I’ve managed to fracture my bones. I had a bone scan done today as I was experiencing major discomfort and pain in my left calf and right shin. Even when I wasn’t doing any activity. I’d wake up and those areas would be sore. Tried to foam roll them, and massage the pain away but nothing really helped. I went into the #DeloitteChallenge
with this pain. Basically I convinced myself I was fine. Fast forward to last Saturday’s 10KM run with @thepackjhb
and I realized that the pain wasn’t just in my head (I.e. I was not imagining it). It didn’t help that @litha_bella
pointed it out just a few meters into the run but I did what runners do and pushed through (that’s stupid. Please don’t do that. You’ll only make matters worse for yourself). So I went off to see my Bio on Monday who referred me to a Sports Physician who in turn sent me off for blood tests (vitamin D, calcium, etc) as well as a bone scan. All this happened today. What was supposed to be a quick rubber stamp from the Doc telling me I could run #Kosmos3in1
resulted in tears 😭 Yes fam (I’m a cry baby) because I was told that I may not run under any circumstances for the next 4 - 6 weeks. I have fractured my bones. With the left side being worse than the right as it is both in the front and back of the bone 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏽♀️ So #NoKosmos #NoFunRuns #NoTreadmill #Nada
with a side of #Gym
so brave yourself for my #GymSelfies
😜 Thank you all for your well wishes and concerns 😘
