~Rumford Chemical Works~
8 sided teal green bottle from a historic factory in Providence, Rhode Island. It contained Horsford Acid Phosphate. One teaspoon in a glass of water would give you a lemon lime refreshment tonic which was advertised to relieve mental and nervous exhaustion. Clear bottles were used at first, but the product would cloud up, so they switched to teal green. They stopped using teal green in 1900. This info helps me age it, but I’m not exactly sure how old yet. My guess is 1880-1900👍
Yesterday was going to be my only opportunity for awhile to do a solo bottle/treasure hunt. I love paddling with family and friends, but sometimes I need the freedom to paddle to places I can’t go with a group. I had a hunch about a particular spot. The weather forecast didn’t look good. Since this was the last chance for a solo paddle in awhile, I went anyway. I got rained on pretty bad, with strong gusts of wind and some close lightning😬 It finally calmed down enough to make a run for home. I convinced myself to stop at one more spot. Bam! and there she was.....📸😀 #paddle2history #rumfordchemicalworks #tealgreen #providenceri #newsmyrnabeach #stand_up_paddle #historygram #testedtough #savinghistory #dirtfishing #mudlarking #explorida #standupjournal #lovefl #keephammering #staysaltyflorida
