"The Artist Says" series !!
We are sure many of you can relate to her journey. Our best wishes to Sreesha !! 😊 "I am Sreesha Ravindran, an income tax professional and also mother of a 5 year old boy. My days starts at 5.00 AM and ends at 11.30PM. I do not have a free second to stretch my legs and relax. I get physically drained at times but not mentally. I worship dance as my God and I am committed to dance in the same way I am committed to my family and my job. I do not compare myself with other dancers or try to adapt their style. I respect their talent and get inspired but I never see anyone as a competition. When I dance, I do not see the audience or think about my appearance. I always get this feeling of floating in infinity. Also, I get immense support from my family.
In order to be fit for dancing I practise yoga, cardio and running. I am also an experianced mountaineer and goes on trek/expedition to Himalayas once in a year which helps me to stay fit.
Right now I am learning under Vijetha Padmashali. There is something special about her compared to other teachers. She let me decide what I want to do and hence, I always dance to what awakens the dancer in me completley and I can relate myself to the character more. We both perform together most of the times and we also started a dance school named as "Kalangan". We both are interested to perform for events in Bangalore and if time permits in Kerala and Mangalore as well. "

The Artist Says Series :
" I am Patruni Chidananda Sastry from Hyderabad ,a learner and a gender activist . I have been learning Bharatanatyam from Shankarananda Kalashetra under guidance of Guru Sri Ananda Shankara Jayant and Odissi from Preeti Mohapatra from Hyderabad . I perforn a visionary unique style of Indian classical expressionist dance. A dance form which was developed at the time of world war two as a revolutionary movement against banning of performance art. I bring in that style with Indian context to talk about social issues.Dance for me is a language which can teach subjects from science to data analysis. Life is a dance for us to dance." Patruni Chidananda Sastry
