You were sitting in the back seat, your hand underneath Finn’s. Mara and your dad were up front talking about Finn, maybe, you weren’t really paying attention. The raindrops slipping down the window had caught your eye. Soon enough the car pulled up to Sophia’s place, it was in Caleb’s neighborhood which is really cool. You’d get to see her more often this way. Finn helped you out, holding an umbrella over the two of you as you guys ran to her front door. Chris opened it and let the four of you inside. The house smelled nice like candles were burning. The farther you walked in you realized there were in fact candles burning. Sophia ran down the plush, cream-colored stairs and gave you a hug that swung you around from how much force it had.
Wiyen: You look great!
She did, she had on a chartreuse set, skirt, and top, and her hair had tiny little curls.
Sophia: You too, that dress looks great on you!
She gave Finn a hug as well and then everyone hung their coats up except for you since you didn’t bring one.
Wiyen: So Chosen couldn’t make it?
Sophia: Yeah, he had to work late. The shop has been super busy lately which is good but I miss him haha.
Sophia lead everyone inside past the foyer and into the dining room. The house was really nice but not quite as bougie as Caleb’s. There was a tablecloth, silverware laid out, plates, and cloth napkins. It was like a fancy restaurant. All of a sudden you were finding it funny that your dad and you ordered pizza and Chinese most nights.
Sophia: You can have a seat, the food should be ready by now.
You and Finn sat next to each other, of course you did. A minute later Sophia came out with plates of food and started serving everyone. The dinner was delicious and the conversation enjoyable, only something stuck out to you.
