One bite into a regular cheese slice and I was transported back to all those times growing up when I’d grab a slice on my way to class, to a show, or as a quick lunch at work in NYC. This is the real deal! But even better, Joshua Pollack and exec chef Mat Schumaker have made a pie that has all the goodness of a NY slice but is miraculously not oily. Digging it!⠀
Famous J’s will be open in a pop-up capacity starting TOMORROW, 4/20, open Fri - Sun, 5pm until late with broader hours to come in the coming weeks.⠀

How often do you get the chance to take a live cooking class from a chef with over 50 restaurants under his belt?
Last week we got to - and now you can too. Latinicity - the colorful food hall in Block 37 is now hosting in depth cooking classes with serious chefs like owner and celebrity chef Richard Sandoval, or Marcos Flores.
During our class we sliced, diced, and squeezed our way to a spicy and citrus ceviche, learned the importance of charring vegetables before they become tortilla soup,
tasted cocktails with their house mezcal and tequilas, and got to try the chef's special molé bbq sauce on his roasted chicken.
They'll be having separate classes for different types of Latin cuisines, so look for the next one on Eventbrite and add some extra depth to your culinary game.
