Dietland is one of two shows (Love Is - the other) that I can't get enough enough. The narrative is bold and fresh...feminist asf...thought provoking. I don't get into many TV shows and prefer books, documentaries, & vinyl mostly. However, what Dieyland is doing is groundbreaking. The show that follows, @unapologeticamc
, does a deep dive into the corresponding episode & larger issues addressed. Its panel of guests make me think more.
I was quiet about my politics and in denial of my feminism for much of my life until I reached 33, where I am now. Shows like this do me a world of good. I don't cry often and don't want to issue a spoiler to those that haven't seen this week's Dietland episode, but tears are falling just now for Plum. It reminds me of something I experienced just prior to leaving Cali to enter caregiver mode by looking after my mom.
The episode had a trigger warning I acknowledged. I didn't realize that it would trigger me and I am not mad, but rather, glad. I tend to suppress emotions more often than I should. I am grateful I have had to go there this evening. 📷:@dietlandamc
