Hung At Heart (2013)
Gothic Rock/Beach Music
I first heard about this band through my old friend @fuckituproy
. He introduced the track “Someday” back when him and I along with our class for college took a camping trip. Weird/best camping experience I had and was gifted with great tunes that stayed with me after thank you again @fuckituproy
, I appreciate you!!
“Someday” this track brings so many positive vibes. I remember at first I got hooked on it because of the beach sound it had to it. But now every single time I listen to it, I think of wilderness and my camping memory. I enjoy how the small guitar solo also had an older “Elvis” type of sound to it.
“Naked Kids” the intro of the track threw me through a loop because I was expecting something very weird. I was absolutely wrong, this track seems like a slow version of Someday. But as i continued to listen to both of the tracks they are very different. The sound of this track had a lot to do with the keys being played in the instrumental.
“Living In A Memory” caught my attention due to its’ sound reminding of Sons of Anarchy. I believe its the cello/bass guitar that is giving that western sound to the track. Which oddly suited my life because I’m currently reading a book involving biker gangs so I grew very attached to this track super quick. ~~~
“Beach Rats” this track reminds me of a sound you would hear on a film about lawless acts. Maybe a film about old school mobsters due to the bass guitar driven instrumental. It just drives this idea being reckless and doing things while being young. Although gangsters were not young in age their attitude felt as though they were still only 18 or 20 with a lot of life to live for!
Overall, this album was great to live with over the weekend. I think the places this album took me is what makes it - - TASTEFULL!!
