Racking up the bar with more weights isn't about ego and isn't about showing off. It simply means adding more weights so that each set that you do gets tougher and tougher. And why do we add on those weights? It is because we BELIEVE that we want to challenge our limits and are able to complete the set. And when we are able to successfully complete those sets with the targeted reps, we add more weights to beat our personal record. Well, that’s what life is. Always about pushing our limits. We set certain goals, because we BELIEVE that we can achieve them. When those goals have been achieved, bigger goals are set for bigger success. And this road to success will get tougher just as those sets that we’ve loaded with more weights. But don’t let this deter you from achieving your goals because this defines your character. Nothing like the perfect chest & tricep lift to get you pumped up for a busy, but short week💪🏻 . . Story time: during this morning’s lift I got “interrupted” 4 different times for small talk from ppl I have met through fitness at the gym I go to. It got me to reflecting how it always seems that during the last couple months before we move I finally feel “at home.” Ironic that the longing for more time in one place always comes once time is almost up... . Moving day is in just about 2 months and every day I feel myself get closer to people I see regularly, or wish I could continue to get closer to, my heart feels like it’s pulling in two opposite directions: 1) protect yourself from deepening relationships with such short time left so it doesn’t make leaving hard or 2) soak it all in. give each person and relationship all you have until moving day is here. leave with lasting relations all over the country and sweet friendships to carry with me. . My goal is to actively choose the latter🙌🏻 . Maybe this seems dramatic to some of you reading this, but this aspect of military life is one of the toughest parts... the ever changing people and places with each new base you’re sent to... finding a new church, a new job, a new gym, starting a new routine, settling into a new home, city, state, environment, etc. and finding that perfect equation of balance in your life in this new place to feel like this is “normal.” . Whether you move often or are living the same place you always have, I challenge you to also give every bit of heart and soul you have to each person you meet, no matter if they’re around for a short season or for years to come. Leave your mark on their heart in the most positive way you can💚 . Doesn’t matter, try another approach. Or maybe just try again. No successful dieter has ever gotten to his/her goal in one go. It takes time, effort and consistent trial and error, day in and day out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the end of the day it’s all about effort + consistency, and the results are obviously proportionate to the amount of effort & consistency you’re going to put in. The less excuses you give to yourself, the more chances you’ll have to reach your goals.
