Recent alpenglow glory from not today. 😍 All that heat and humidity has kept The Mountain fairly hidden this week. Gotta look closely to see MtRainier! | 📷 by @alexbambrough #RainierWatch
It's been so hazy lately it's easy to forget this majestic beast is out there unless you look closely 😎❤🗻. Join our community of Rainier watchers and lovers today. Use the hashtag #RainierWatch

Ingraham icefall, 4:30 am. One of the sportier crevasse crossings is depicted in this shot—you can see where the route traverses an off-canter, partially unattached, narrow snowbridge over a 60+ foot deep crevasse... We used protection and caution here.
The sharp, precipitous summit of Little Tahoma Peak is pictured to the right, backlit by the sun’s first peek over the horizon. We had already been ascending for almost two hours at this point.
I hardly took photos during the climb, unfortunately, because we were time-conscious and one is ill-advised to dawdle in heavily crevassed areas with overhead hazard, especially with a summit to reach. But, I do wish I could have captured how the rising sun painted the crests and chasms of glacier ice brilliant crimson! The beauty of it almost made me tear up.
Last one from the climb, I swear! 😉 Now I’m stuck in the Chicago airport, attempting to get home on standby....
Missing The Mountain right about now. And how about this heat wave? 🔥 🗻 Join our community of Rainier watchers and lovers today. Use the hashtag #RainierWatch

No single mountain has ever came to me...so I always go to them.
Lunching at 10,000' today, I got to observe a practice crevasse rescue down on the Cowlitz Glacier, and have a super interesting conversation with the guy who builds @whiteknucklemonos
and has skied 95 consecutive months!
Three weeks late, but Cayuse Pass is open! Count yourself lucky if you're coming to Packwood from Seattle. The scenery on this road is sublime.
Last night's cloud cap sunset to wish you a happy Father's Day.
