Video 1- 4 sets of 35kg 4 reps wide grip pull ups . Video 2- 4 sets of 5kg 10reps controlled pull ups. 💥INITIAL ASSESSMENT CHECKLIST💥 --- THANK your patient for coming in to see you. . Let your patient tell their story. (#shutup ) . Allow your patient to ask questions at any time. . Reflectively listen and repeat back what your patient has said to you. . Confirm you are listening with head nods, verbal acknowledgement, eye contact. . Use keywords that your patient uses to describe things in order to connect. . Find out what your patient thinks is going on and how they feel about it. . Find out what prompted them to see you NOW. (Prioritize if multiple issues.) . Give opportunity for your patient to discuss their expectations. . Find out personal details about your patient. Bring them up later. . Do not use “nocebic” language. . Check for and continuously monitor for “Red Flags.” . Be encouraging and reinforce all the positives. . Work together to establish S.M.A.R.T Goal(s). . Work together to determine the best way to get “homework” to fit in your patients day. . Give some tangible take-away that they can use ASAP (i.e. Homework, Advice, Dx, etc) . Provide some kind of outline as to a plan moving forward. . Give time at the end of your session for your patient to ask anything questions or go over things missed. . THANK THEM for opening up to you and allowing you two to connect. . Bring your patient up to the front to get them re-booked and make sure you see them off personally. . On this weeks epi of ‘Brit moves better than us 😑’ ⠀⠀ @brit_brit26 working hard to grab some of her passive ROM and start to cultivate it into active ROM. We put her in the splits, found the limit of her passive range, then we backed off about 10-15 deg. ⠀⠀ Most importantly we worked some isometric holding at the top. However, we also used heavily assisted concentric and a lightly assisted eccentric effort. We didn’t do this too long. The demand on the body is high. A little will go a long way. ⠀⠀ This brings me to a very important point: When doing mobility work I encourage everyone to program it with the thought and care that’s put into programming the strength and condition work. Practicing mobility with no plan is the same as lifting with no plan. Programming with care and thought will get you farther and safer, most likely quicker, than without.... Just some food for thought ⠀⠀ Disclaimer: This super difficult to do. I wouldn’t recommend randomly trying this. ⠀⠀

I’d classify accessory work as something not directly performed in a sport specific training scenario or using movements that aren’t found in the sport that increase your capacity to train and improve in more specific activities to your sport. . . . Accessory work is where I see one of the biggest opportunities to individualise someone’s training. Westside Barbell were probably my biggest influence in doing this. To train your sport you must do X, Y and Z every week, however to bring up your weak areas you have to get very specific with the athlete. . . . A1. See-saw KB Z-Press - 3x16 alt. A2. See-saw DB BOR - 3x16 alt. . . . .
