Waiting for sunny and warm weather ☀️
Rainier Days: 2/3
A lazy warm afternoon for a pair of Marmots in the Paradise Valley of Mount Rainier National Park.
The one at the rear is in a staring competition with a pesky bee.
The GIGANTIC Mount Rainier hiding behind the clouds.
From Paradise area.
Winter is my favorite season in the PNW and the outdoor activities get even better 👌🏼
We took a trip out to Rainier to learn about their youth programs. Come to the Spring Dinner and Auction on April 7 to hear what Ranger Annie had to say about your impact on our area’s youth!
MY PATERNAL GRANDFATHER SUMMITED MOUNT RAINIER WAY BACK IN THE DAY. In 2015 I followed in his footsteps. I made my first ascent of Mount Rainier with Richard Kresser as part of an awkward and ill-conceived attempt to combine a traverse of the summit with a circumambulation of the mountain via the Wonderland Trail. The project didn't go, but we did make a nice connection starting at White River campground, taking the Wonderland clockwise to Paradise, then over the top and back to White River, unsupported. And in so doing not only did I touch the top of Mount Rainier as my grandfather had done many decades before and experience the Mountain in a way I never previously had done, but in my research for the project I learned of Chad Kellogg's Infinity Loop dream, which became the project that hijacked my imagination for the next twelve months.
What a Blessing to be a Biped!

The forest was vibrant here on the Paradise River in Mount Rainier National Park early last Autumn.
Huge thanks to Good & Well for supporting Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks by donating a portion of the proceeds from all of their products!
A good bar of soap makes early morning showers better. 🌿
